I absolutely love this! It would be so charming too to have it on the lawn of an historic house or in a beautiful park. I wonder if you did this, would there be lawn games? dancing (during the daytime)?
I love it and would love to attend something like this but my FI is too much of a guys' guy to ever let me do this for OUR wedding. :)
So many pretty options with this. I want kind of an offshoot of this.. Like.. a midwestern barn-raising sort of feeling, minus the barn.
I am calling it a Prarie Home Companion Wedding. But I love these kind of beautiful and simpl wedding.
Love that! I think it would look great. When it's outdoors things look great when they're more mis-matchy. You can do alternating centerpieces.
I'd love to go to a wedding that was tea party style! That sounds great
I love it! How cute! I am with sweetlikecake reminds me of Alice in Wonderland which is my favorite movie of all times. I have been thinking I want a theme like that, but didnt know how to make it not sooo girly for FI. :) What a great setting though!
That's so cute! That would totally be my theme (tea party) if I had a spring wedding! the possibilities are endless!
I'd love to go to a wedding like that. Looks fun and laid back, beautiful and tasty.
Mrs. Mouse did a vintage-garden theme. I was going to until my girls told my they really wanted to wear a darker color... so everything changed but I still LOVE garden themes! My shower is a tea party so I love that too :)
I think it's cute. But I think I'd like it more for a shower. I agree with the pp who mentioned her man maybe not digging it.
it looks soo cute! I don't know if the idea of a tea party wedding will fly with my FI though! ahah! he may think its a bit too girlie for him. BUt a garden party would be great!!
This is what I'm doing for my wedding!
I've been scouring the second hand shops and thrift stores for mismatched china and silver serving trays to put the food on. For the centerpieces I'm using teacups/pots filled with flowers. We're having pinwheel sandwiches, mini quiche, scones, muffins, lemon curd, plus cupcakes and cake. And I got a great bulk tea bag rate on etsy from teaman: 102 different bags for $17! So there will be two kinds of iced tea and pink lemonade. Also, I'm setting up a hot water urn thing with several kinds of tea bags for their choice of hot tea.
For favors I used little orgnaza bags and put two of the tea bags in there with a little tea label I found here: http://styleguide.com.au/pdfdocs/TeaPartyTagTemplateBlueP.pdf
I've loved it since my aunt had an afternoon tea for her reception 10 years ago!
I think it is going to be a trend for 2010/2011 though :/
despite trendiness, I <3 tea parties & picnics!
Sounds pretty. The picture is lovely. But would your fiance (and any of the men invited) feel comfortable or out of place with a theme/vibe that is generally "girly"? It's his day too so he needs to be equally comfortable. If it doesn't work out for the wedding, you can have a garden/tea themed shower.
I love it - we're getting married in a rose garden and our unofficial theme is vintage/english garden tea party. I've just ordered a whole lot of glass jars to put flowers in on the tables at the reception and I made a WHOLE lot of bunting to decorate the garden we're having the ceremony in. It really fits our venue and I think it'll be really sweet and romantic!
