I think gold shoes can be really, really pretty! I'm wearing gold shoes (granted, I'm wearing them with a gold lehnga as opposed to a wedding dress) and I've seen so many beautiful options. I've had a hard time choosing a pair!
One pair that I really loved was Kate Spade's "Lola"-- it is one of the prettiest gold shoes I've ever seen.

You will love it! The Nordstrom photo does *not* do it justice. It is so, so, so pretty and sparkly. I would have chosen it myself except I wanted a slightly higher heel. Have fun-- a big box of shoes sounds like the perfect afternoon to me :)
What do I think of gold shoes?! I'm wearing them with my ivory dress!
I'm wearing a red chinese dress for the reception and the gold looks great with that dress as well!
I love the look of my gold shoes with my ivory dress. It's very pa-pow! In my honest opinion, gold is better than silver. It makes much more of a statement.
My dress is champagne (more of a pink ivory than yellowy) and I'm considering gold shoes.... although I haven't REALLY started looking much yet! Let me know what you find! 
i also have a champagne dress and wondering about shoes colors. i havent really started looking yet but nordstroms sounds like a great place to start!
my dress is ivory and i was originally wearing silver shoes, and changed my mind and wanted gold. Now I'm wearing shoes that are champagne goldish color. I love em. Gold shoes are beautiful!
There are actually a lot of really cute gold shoes - I had the best luck with the Nordstrom website, although Macys and the various bridal shoe websites had some as well. Since I will be mail ordering them and will send back the rejects, I will probably go with Nordstrom as lot of the bridal websites seem to charge you a restocking fee. Nordys has pumps, and sandles, and all heights of heels, and every price range from $70 to $400... and a lot of the cute ones are under $100. Most of the websites seem to let you search on color, which is helpful, although sometimes gold isn't a color, so you have to pick metallic - which gets you silver as well.
Zappos has some really beautiful options too! I got my gold pair (Stuart Weitzman's Submit, which I'll be blogging about soon) there and the customer service was so great--- they make returns so easy.

do it! who cares if everyone else wears silver? i have a few dress changes and they all have gold in them so i am looking for one pretty gold pair that i can wear with every dress.
i just ordered a few pairs of gold flats from zappos myself, waiting for them to arrive after tomorrow. really excited!

i'm thinking gold will look beautiful...I have an ivory dress and I actually tried on a pair of very comfortable nine west gold shoes today!
They are called Luxious and are $89. very comfortable even though it's high because of the built in platform...
I should start off by saying that I love shoes. I love how they look on my feet, I love how they look in my closet, and I love the fact that they come in perfect present boxes.lol. That being said, I think that a gold shoe with an ivory dress would look AMAZING, and you should definetly go for it if its what you want, regardless of any "face" you get for it!

I'm wearing gold too. I love it! I also think it'll be great that I can wear the shoes after the wedding.
I'm not a "gold" gal - so I'm not the one suited to answer this really - BUT, I will say this:
They are just shoes. I was going to wear Converse Sneakers decked out in sparkles and fluffy ribbon for laces under mine! No one is going to see them and so if mom gives you "That Face" remind her of that.
I think the added color would be fantastic, and that with ivory it would look twice as good.
What matters most is you sound really into wanting to do this and thats all that matters. Go with your heart chica!
I'm wearing an ivory dress and gold shoes. I wanted to buy shoes that I would wear again and the gold looks lovely with the ivory dress. Plus, I think it's cute that it's a little unexpected.
Two pairs came today from Zappos. Aren't they wonderful - free 24-hr shipping AND free returns. I am leaning toward the etienne agnier marta; the color is called platinum but it is actually a light gold.
They are super comfy.
bridinla - I love the look of the Luxious and actually had them in my shopping cart on Macys.com, but am kind of worried that I would not be able to walk in them. I am a little high heel challenged, as I usually wear steel-toed boots to work.

My dress is going to be ivory. I see a lot of silver shoes on the internet, and I understand silver with white, but I'm wondering if it would look okay with ivory. My veil had a sort of sparkly gold finished edge, which looked great with the ivory dress. I am kind of afraid my mom will make "that face" when she sees the gold shoes...
I have been reading the shoes postings, and see lots of colors (pink, blue...) so you guys are giving me some courage in the shoe area.
