@nerdybird:  Love it.  It works pretty much exactly like Netflix on Demand programming except there are a few commercials interspersed.  We use it to watch a lot of the programs we used to watch on cable and some shows are available the day after broadcast.  We use both Hulu Plus and Netflix in place of cable.  We also purchase a series or two in its entirety from Amazon on Demand and Vudu.

@nerdybird:  We found that we save around $100 a month by canceling cable and paying for Hulu Plus and Netflix.  As of yet we haveonly paid for a season pass for the recent season of Mad Men which cost us $23 (Vudu releases each episode the day after it airs as well so you can watch it as it airs or at the end of the season.)  It’s 13 episodes so that’s less than $8 a month since the season was 3 months long.  Having cable would have cost me $300 for the one show that we acually like enough to buy.  The only show we miss is Game of Thrones but I’m not paying $100 month for a single show, it’s not that good!

@nerdybird:  Breaking Bad’s final season is $15 on Vudu.  $23 if you want HD quality.

@nerdybird:  Most definitely.  I do too.  I’ll pause it and go back to it a few days later and click Resume.

It’s okay. If they have shows you like, then it’s great. I can’t say we’ve watched it recently, since the shows we watch aren’t on in the summer, but during the “tv season,” we watch it a lot. Beware that some networks don’t allow their programming to be played on Hulu+, so some stuff you have to watch on your computer only. :

If I pay for a service, commercials are inexcusible. We use Netflix and Amazon Prime. We had hulu, but cancelled it because we never used it more than Netflix and the commercials are bad.

@vorpalette:  Good point about computer play only.  Hannibal was a computer play only show.  We used our HDMI cable to hook up our laptop to our TV so we could stream Hulu Plus online directly on our TV.  Our laptop speakers weren’t loud enough so we bought additional speakers for $40 from Amazon and now we can enjoy tons of FREE internet programming too (MTV has lots of free shows including Teen Mom 1-3; we also like Bar Rescue on Spike.)

@Hyperventilate:  I have prime but I haven’t looked much into the video stuff. Can you download to your prime video app with wi fi and then watch without service? I’m going to france in Sept and need to figure this out, it would be nice to be able to watch something on an 11 hour flight.

@MsJ2theZ:  I couldn’t tell you. My husband and I just use it on our Smart TV. We haven’t tried downloading it and watching anywhere else. Might want to shoot Amazon a question about it.

Amazon Prime also has Breaking Bad, plus it upgrades your amazon account to include free 2 day shipping. Could be a tiebreaker for some people if they use Amazon a lot.

The commercials plus the fact that even the pay version has limited availability on episodes made it a bad deal to me. I just use the free version and watch on it the computer. It’s really not worth the money in my opinion.
