Our wedding will be held in a family backyard and later we will go for a swim in a swimming hole.
Timeline is something like this:
10:45 Cocktail hour
Indian butter chicken cup – Quesadilla with Carribean jerk chicken – Polenta cup with chicken and Piave cheese – Miniature brioche with lobster thermidor – Thai chicken satay with peanut sauce – Prawns with garlic and fresh herbs – Fresh fruit and cheese platter
Spinach salad with roasted cherry tomatoes – Fennel and orange crusted salmon – Herb grilled chicken with Boursin sauce – Gnocchi with brown butter – Potato croquette – Green beans with pine nuts – Dessert (cake table)
Salty pretzels – Caramel popcorn – Fresh fruit kebab – Gelato
19:00 Dinner and party
Chicken fingers with french fries and mac and cheese – Pizzas – Salads (caprese and caesar) – Dessert (mini cheesecake, brownies, fried apple pie)
For drinks and booze, we’ll have water, coffee, wine, and champagne in the afternoon, and water, lemonade, beer, and soda for the evening.
What do you think? Is it too much or do I need to provide more? Any feedback is appreciated.

Your wedding sounds so fun. And I personally would love the menu.

Wow, thats a long day! Sounds like you’ve got tons of great food to hold everybody over though. I definitely dont think you’d need anymore food, and it looks like a great variety to make everyone happy.

zunzuncita: So…this is a full-day affair? Lunch and dinner? Is the cocktail hour at 10:45 AM a “true” cocktail hour? I’d feel a little weird having a cocktail that early, unless it was a bloody mary or a Mimosa – maybe this is what you are planning?
Aside from that, my only gripe is that I see no vegetarian options in the appetizer portion.

applecat: spiffanee: We’re thinking of serving bellini and mojito. Sorry, maybe calling it “cocktail hour” is technically incorrect since it’s that early.
Thanks applecat, we do have to add some vegetarian options!

zunzuncita: Looks great to me!

My only critique is that the cocktail hour food is very heavy for 10:45am. And then there’s a heavy lunch on top of that at 12pm. Is there more time appropriate food that you could serve at 10:45pm and save those appetizers for later in the afternoon?

It all sounds delicious, but it does sound a little all over the globe! Which isn’t really a problem unless you were going for a certain feel or theme. It just isn’t cohesive- but it may not even matter because it all sounds yummy.

I would switch out one of the meat dishes during cocktail hour with something veggie friendly as the only other option is the fruit and cheese tray. Also, could the caesar salad have dressing on the side, or be veg friendly (no anchovies)? Those changes just reflect my own personal vegetarian pickyness. Otherwise, YUMMM! 🙂

jamb: I agree; the pre-lunch appetizers are pretty heavy. And there’s a lot of chicken.
OP, you could probably scale back the morning appetizers by cutting out a chicken app or two.
Sounds like a really fun day!

Sounds great! Cocktail hour at 10:45 is a treat!

Sounds delicious – and I’m kind of picky! I do agree with PPs that it seems like appetizers and lunch are quite heavy. I’d rather have cocktails with MAYBE some fruit/veggies/crackers, then lunch, a mid-afternoon snack that’s heartier than the pretzels/fruit/gelato listed (more like your appetizers which all sound AMAZING), then dinner.

I dont think cocktails at 10:45 and then swimming later is a good idea. Maybe swap some things around.
