So I made my friend and I a little workout schedule we started this week. It’s mostly made up of the classes at the gym because I think we’ll work ourselves a lot harder in a class than on our own. It’s basically like having free personal trainers b/c they’re all certified teachers! With less than 6 weeks until the wedding I need to be worked hard otherwise I don’t think I’ll be able to see results in time. I think it will be fun 🙂 Most of our workout days will start at 8:30, but as long as we go to be by midnight we should be good to go! I have us working out mon-fri for about 2hrs everyday(b/c i read that that’s what jessica simpson did for her body in dukes of hazzard) Saturdays are optional and nada on sunday. What do you think? Is it too much, not enough?? Let me know! I have about 5-10lbs to lose and I want to tone my belly.
“BOSU core” for abs @ 8:45-9:15AM
9:15-9:30 Leg machines
“Upper Cuts” for arms 8:30am-9:15
Pilates for abs 9:30-10:30
“Pilates” for abs 8:30-9:30am
Butts & Guts for abs 8:30am-9:30am
10:00-10:30 leg machines
Pilates for both 8:30am-9:30am
saturday (optional abs/cardio)

I LOVE THE PICTURE OF JESSICA AT THE END! LOL such a nice touch girl!! 🙂
That workout seems bada**!!! Dang girl, get em!! I definitely think it’s a good workout! I wish I could do that too!

Oh & btw it definitely doesn’t seem like it’s too much or not enough in my opinion. If you have the time I say go for it. It’s good to get toned in all areas. I’m most focused on my tummy at this point, but getting the other areas is very important.

Thanks! She’s my hot bod inspiration!! I’m just worried that since the wedding is so close it’s not enough for such a short amount of time you know?! I guess we’ll see in a few weeks!

Just wanted to throw out there that 90% of weight loss is about what you eat! I’ve also heard the term “abs start in the kitchen” quite frequently.

good point @SanDiego! true that!! diet, diet, diet!!! (and not crash diet..good grains, fruits/veggies diet)

Very true. Diet is sooo hard for me! I LOVE all kinds of food! I’ll start trying to make a diet plan. I always eat pretty healthy for breakfast and lunch, but I’m living with my sis right now and she makes AMAZING (but, not always so healthy) dinners!

I think your routine is stellar! If you can stick with it you’ll lose the weight in no time. I agree with SanDiegoAli, a lot of it is diet. If you love food, try to incorporate some treats into a healthy eating routine.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

I am currently taking courses to become a certified personal trainer and in my opinion (which you can take or leave 🙂 ) is that you shouldn’t be doing an ab workout everyday. Your body needs time to rest inbetween work outs.
You should work one muscle group (whether it be arms, abs or legs) and then give the muscles some time to recoperate, you will see better results this way and lower your chances of an overuse injury.
As important as working out it, factoring in a rest day or two is equally important. You don’t want to be limping down the aisle because you pushed yourself too hard.

Thank you! I was told you should do one muscle group at a time and rest in between, but someone told me you can do abs everyday. Good to know that wasn’t correct! I will put a couple ab rests in there.

I just want to second the comment that you do not need to work your abs every day. Your abs need rest just like every other muscle that you will be working out.
Also, make sure you fuel your body with complex carbs and protein after your workout, so that your muscles can recover!!

I was just going to post the same things as Future Mrs. M! Don’t work your abs everyday – they need rest too. I work out six days a week, and only do abs for three of those days. Rest days are important too 🙂

I was reading all the posts worried that no one was going to tell you that you were doing too many abs. Abs are a muscle just like your biceps and also need rest.
I am also a personal trainer and recommend to only do abs every other day! Also to get the best results with weight loss do cardio 5-6x per week (minimum of 3) and count your calories. For the best toning results do full body workouts 3x per week or split it up so that you alternate Upper and lower body for a 6 day plan.
When J.S. was working out 2 hours a day she was doing an hour of cardio daily and an hour of weights alternating muscle groups for 6 days a week. With one day of complete rest!
