I just ordered my dress and am trying to decide on the BM dresses now.  We are having a garden wedding.  I have four BM's, and then one Jr. BM and a flowergirl.  My FI will be wearing a dark gray suit and the groomsmen will be wearing charcoal gray suits (similar to the picture, but maybe a bit darker) and I think the ringbearer will probably have something like a vest or suspenders.

I really want the girls in nude/pink dresses.  This is my inspiration picture:

And this is the board I just made to compare the dresses I like with my dress, bouquet (sorry its blurry here) and the gray suits:

The first dress in the second row also comes in more of a pink color, but I'm not sure if its too bright, whereas this one is more of a taupe.  And here is what I am thinking for the FG:

I am not sure what the Jr. BM would wear yet, but what do you all think?  Could we pull this off?  I really want the girls to have dresses with detail and are mismatched and fun.  If you don't like it, will you please suggest some dresses in this color range?

I think they would look nice but it sorta depends. I'm personally SUPER pale so if I wore a color like that I would look naked. But if you had darker toned girls I think it would look nice :)

I think it could look really classy!  Are those the actual dresses that your girls have in mind?

Love it! So vintage/modern but whimsical as well, if that makes sense!! I love the mismatched aspect of it with the creamy pinks/nudes. I say go for it!

I totally love your entire color scheme!  It's so romantic.  Perfect for a June wedding.

There just one thing, & it's just a general personal preference.  Firstly, I like short BM dresses; however, I think it looks awkward when the bride is wearing a long dress & her BMs are wearing super short dresses - even if it's an outdoor wedding.  The attention should be on the bride.  Not sure if you've picked out your BM dresses yet.  Just food for thought.

    @beeliever:

All of my girls are between 5'0" and 5'3" so I'm not sure how short these would actually be on them. Hmm.

@Shiner:As a shortie myself, I can tell you they won't be too short on your ladies. You may still want a photo of each lady before she buys her dress.

    Love the concept.

Those dresses would be around above the knee or knee length on me. I'm 5'3. Very pretty! I think it's super romantic!

Personally I like there to be some contrast between to the bride and the BMs, so am not really a fan of this look.

I like the style of all of the dresses, but as a freakishly pale Irish girl, I can tell you without even trying them on that I would look terrible in those colors.  I think it depends a lot on the skin tone of your BMs.

I like the first picture, but it really depends on the coloring of your BMs. I'm super-pale with red hair and would look absolutely naked in one of those shades, unless it was pretty close to ivory or white. If you've seen your girls in those colors before and it looks good, go for it!

Not my style, I like very bright colors, but it's very pretty.

I personally would look really washed out in that dress. Is it an afternoon wedding or an evening wedding? Maybe if the lighting was right it wouldn't look too awful on me. They're cute dresses though!

It is an evening wedding. Two of my girls are blonde with medium complexions, one is a brunette with a pale complexion, and the other is my cousin who has similar coloring to me (dirty blonde, light to medium complexion) and wears this color all the time. The only one I am not sure how she would feel about it is the brunette, but I think the brunettes in the picture pull it off nicely. I had originally considered purple but the brunette wasn't crazy about it and then I changed my colors. I showed my MOH the colors and she also liked this color scheme the best. We also considered lilac or a pale blue/green. I know my girls would wear anything I asked though (even the one who didn't care for the purple lol).

Seriously, I have to write to you again to just tell you how in love I am with this look!  I was personally inspired by and obsessed by this same kind of color scheme (although I ended up with pretty much the opposite look! haha deep eggplant floor length gowns and black tuxes)  HOWEVER...my fiance and I WOULD have gone with exactly what you decided for the tuxes: my FI and I in dark charcoal, the guys in light grey, and everyone in blush colors, all the girls in different styles.  I loved this theme because it was so beautiful, yet unique, and wasn't "expected".

These were two of my favorite photos that I was personally wanted to emmulate. :-)

Thank you all for your opinions!  I know that my taste is obviously not going to be the same as everyone else's, but its nice to have some feedback and I'm glad that some of you like it.  It helps to have some outside perspective!

I love these dresses, but if anyone has any suggestions for other dresses that may work with this, please let me know.  I have been looking everywhere.  They do not have to be "bridesmaid" dresses.  That first one isn't from a bridesmaid line.  I'd really like to pick some out and give my girls a choice of the ones I like, so I'd really like to have more than four options for the four girls.

@tuscanbride:  So funny...those are my inspiration photos too!

I am also doing a pale pink and nude color scheme.  I am letting my girls pick their own dresses from Modcloth and Ruche.  Both sites have amazing, vintage-inspired dresses in nude and pale pink.  You may want to look on there because they are super inexpensive too!

    I'm doing the same thing!

All of my girls have their dresses and we're well on our way to being accessorized.  But I will warn you...THIS WAS NOT EASY.  I think it's a lot easier just picking a dress and not letting the girls have options, and I wish I had done it that way.  With that said, I think if your girls are drama-free and not picky, it could really work.

    Here are mine:

@Shiner: I'm sure it'll all look great.  Again, I love it!  I've also been thinking of the same color scheme w/ touches light blue.  The guys will wear grey.

@RahlyRah:  Sounds like so much fun and such a great time to bond with your BM's! :-) I'm sure they really appreciate your creativity and the freedom to choose what they like!

@KateByDesign:  Love this! I am sure it was extra work coordinating all of the different looks, but just think of how gorgeous it will be, and how unique!! :-)

i think the dresses are super cute and i love the grey/pink combination.  one point though, if you pick a really pale color like nude or light pink or champagne, in pictures the bridesmaid dresses look really similar to the brides dress.  if you don't care about that, then it's no big deal.  but i think a lot of photographers edit their pictures to make them look brighter, which will make the similarity between the dresses even greater.
