I’ve always thought raffle prizes were fun. The idea that you get your ticket and everyone has a chance to win something!
I was thinking of having a raffle ticket attached to the seating card somehow (or at everyone’s place at dinner) and then raffling off various presents throughout the evening to mix it up at the reception.
I’m wondering if this sounds cheesy or if you think it would be fun.
Not quite sure what prizes would be – what would you like to receive (massage gift certificates, music/iTunes gift cards, …. any and all ideas appreciated!

i remember someone mentioning this about another wedding a while back on here. they did a bunch of gift cards and different items.
it sounds nice to do but i dont know how well it will go over. and you may have to figure out a way to tell people what those raffle tickets are for.

The more I think of it, the more I’m wondering why I’m giving myself more work (and expenses)…. especially if it might not go over very well. I guess ultimately, I’d need to discuss it with my DJ/MC and get their feedback, etc.

My experience with weddings is that less activity is better. Guests want to eat, dance, drink, and talk and the less interruptions from the band/DJ about activities, the better. There are already so many interruptions like the first dance, toasts, bouquet toss, that the guests start to feel like they are being herded around like sheep when all they want to do is party!
