I think it depends on the person but I like them and would consider one. Who says a wedding dress has to be long anyway?
I think they are super cute and wish I would have looked at one and considered it. Too late, I already have my dress and it's long. I love it tho.
I have one! Long dresses just aren't for me, so I went with a tea length.
i definitely like them and have "short-dress" envy when i see pics like those above, but i wanted a more formal wedding and to me a long dress was more formal than short.
i love this brides dress, maybe alittle tooo short, but its adorable!!
I'm wearing a short wedding dress! I'm having a City Hall ceremony though; I think a short dress might not be formal enough for a traditional wedding.
I love them! If I was doing a City Hall wedding or something really intimate, I'd wear this:
I like short dresses but ended up with a full length myself. Before I got it I was thinking of doing a kitschy, 50s look with a knee-length full skirt.
Honestly...I couldn't stand them when I first discovered them. It seemed like one of those things where people did it just for the sake of being different. But I got over my wounded sense of tradition, haha. They're very cute, just not for me. :)
@lilyfaith-hey thats pretty!
I'm thinking about wearing my grandmothers wedding dress when I get married, it's a shorter-length dress.
I think they're cute although I have never seen them in real life. The bride should choose whichever dress she feels best in, regardless of the length. Therefore, if someone feels more comfortable in a long dress, they should go for that instead. There is no right or wrong. Wedding dresses don't even have to be white and many are not.
LOVE!! I went dress shopping for the first time Saturday and after several long ones, tried a few tea-lengths. I didn't have a "The Dress" moment, but the first time I walked out without a dress trailing to the floor, I was so excited. I love the fun feel - I just felt awkward and weighed-down in floor-length.
I always think it's funny when people (usually older family members) are horrified at something a bride wants to wear/do. I mean, I fully understand having a strong opinion about your own wedding dress, but I know there was a big hoopla over FSIL's strapless dress... who cares if someone else's dress is short, or strapless, or not white?
love them. I'm currently obsessed with this Justin Alexander beauty.

I couldn't decide so i am wearing long for ceremony and dinner, and short for party time after dinner. Found it really cheap on etsy custom made, so I didn't feel bad about buying it. Was nowhere near the cost of a typical two-dress thing. it will be tea length, and now I won't have to worry about anyone stepping on the hem of my tulle ceremony dress and ripping it!

@meowkers: that dress is sooo dreamy! i love it!!! are you looking at that for your dress?? (please say yes!)
@kissybee: I'm considering it but in the end I'll probably go with a long dress because I think our wedding is more formal than this dress. But in my fantasy where i'm as rich as Heidi Klum and get to have a wedding every year, I get to wear this dress for my vintage theme wedding. le sigh.
@meowkers: haha, yes i see. perhaps a fabulous cocktail party someday you could wear it
it is beautiful.
@lilyfaith, I completely agree. It's no one's decision but the bride's as to what she wears. It's hilarious actually that the older generation is so horrified, as you put it, of short wedding dresses when countless women from their generation got married in short dress suits. How is that any different from the short dresses worn today, most of which are designed to look like that from those past eras. You would think they would enjoy those styles being worn again. But apparantly that isn't the case. No one anywhere has the right to judge what someone else is wearing unless it is truly is indecent, as in showing skin that should not be seen by strangers.
i'm wearing short! we're having a really small, informal wedding, so it would just be weird to have a long, formal dress.
I like the 50's style short wedding dresses. That's what my grandma got married in and she looked super cute with her high heels and short dress!
I think for the right wedding that short dresses are perfect! If I'd had a different kind of wedding, I actually had a dress picked out, LOL!
I think short dresses are SUPER cute, and I would consider one to wear for the "exit" but for my actual wedding I have always wanted a long gown. :)
I might feel differently if I had KILLER legs! haha But I do love seeing them on other people, to each their own!
Finally a post about short dresses! I love them and am totally getting one for my big day! I think its just bride preference on what she thinks she looks good in. I personally didnt want the hassle of feeling weighted down all night in a long dress and a short dress though to some might seem informal to me fit my vision of what I truly wanted for my wedding day to feel comfortable but timeless all in one! YAY TO SHORT DRESSES!
I actually shocked everyone when I didn't get a short dress! I had every intention of getting a quirky little short lovely thing, and ended up falling in love with my long dress. I think their gorgeous!
Already ordered the Justin Alexander dress meowkers posted above!! I am SO excited!! My wedding is outdoors under a huge rotunda and it will be perfect!!
Here is the back of the dress...I think it is really pretty to-
Love! My dress is cocktail length and I get a bit giddy every time I try it on! We're having a small private civil ceremony with only our witnesses and our immediate families (and their dates).
Tonya, I love that! I hope you have some seriously to die for shoes to show off, too!
