I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this... but with that veil and the neckline, it reminds me of a nun's habit.  Otherwise I think it's pretty.

I love the bottom. The top is a little too conservative for my tastes though.I think the neckline would look great if there weren't sleeves or vice versa.

It looks like a Muslim wedding dress to me (they are required to cover up like that), so I would be careful making fun of/criticizing it, since this could get into a religious argument very quickly.

wow, that looks incredibly hot. (as in temperature hot)

The neckline looks extremely uncomfortable.  Unless I was super modest or was getting married in Antarctica I (personally) would pass on this one.

I can't see it very clearly but the lace work looks very nice though. I think it all depends on the person wearing it. If you are looking for a modest dress than this one certainly works and looks very pretty.

the neckline is a little high for my tastes, but i like the lace jacket that goes over the dress - it gives it a very "regal" feeling

It's very conservative, but it's still very pretty. If you're a conservative person, it's probably perfect for you!

If your religion sas that you're not allowed to show any skin then it's beautiful. I agree with the PP that it's definitely the veil that's throwing me off.

Edit: I saw that you said to ignore the veil... it would be better without it.

@wedbride:  What type of veil would you use if not the one in this picture, I think that is throwing me off as well.

Plus I see now that your wedding is in December, all those layers should help keep you warm as an added bonus.

For a super-conservative dress it's actually quite nice. I've seen some full coverage dresses that look like they were made from a plain white bedsheet, but this one has glamor and grace. Not a dress for everyone, but if you have to cover up you might as well do it with something pretty.

@wedbride:  I like the one she has now but without the scarf under it.

The lace edge looks nice with the dress.

ohhh I just found these online for some inspiration.

I agree with @panterapeach: it look (temperature) hot. But it says that you are getting marred in December so it shoulsn't be a problem.

I think the dress is beautiful, but it's not my style. I really like the way the lace goes over the skirt. Also, I think a drop veil would look very nice with this.

Even if this dress is chosen for religious reasons, I think it could have nicer details... a dress can be modest and still be nice and this doesnt scream that nice to me

@wedbride: I am presuming that the reason for most of the skin being covered is for religious purposes so I just wanted to know how strict that requirement is. Is there any way your chest (not breasts of course) can be a bit more open? When I first saw it, I must be honest as Loribeth above, it also reminded me of a nun and I certainly do not mean to offend you. I have been to muslim weddings where the brides also cover most of their skins but just have a bit of the chest open. Is that at al all an option?

I like the bottom of the dress, it is beautiful!

I actually think it would look really pretty without any veil at all-- maybe add a headpiece or tiara? it reminds me of something medieval and elegant! I think I'd want it to have a little more pizzazz on the front though, maybe some more embroidery?

Not my taste, but it has some nice details. The whole dress looks a little dated, though.

Apologies for my earlier statement. I really wasn't thinking. However, I do think you could be covered and still a bit more modern. What about something like this with a beaded headpeice?

If you are simply asking an opinion I think it's really really not good looking dress in any way.

I love the lace overlay (coat? jacket?) most of all. I would totally wear that with a more simple strapless dress. My mom made and wore a lace "cape" for her wedding, so maybe it reminds me of that. The shape of the dress is very flattering.

I really like the overlay and overall silhouette of the dress... It is definitely a lot prettier than some of the other modest dresses I've seen. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that underneath it just looks like a kinda plain white turtleneck. I'd love to see something (I don't know what would look good though...beading? lace? Idk...) dress that part up a bit.

Look at this pattern.  If the lace were lined with solid fabric, and if the necline were closed all the way it would be a beautiful option paired with a lacey hijab.

I think it looks really nice, except for the collar. It's not because of the coverage, exactly - it's just very severe-looking compared to the rest of the dress.

I do slightly care for this gown. It is quite plain, not at all flattering and an awkward shape. There are a number of Pronovias and Rosa Clara (Aire Barcelona) dresses that fully cover and are absolutely beautiful. Some that I even considered for myself. Try looking into:

This one kind of reminds me of the one up top - minus the sleeves but you could always get those added - and loooove panterapeach's ideas for head wraps, especially the second one
