Is this to go with your wedding dress? If so I feel like I need to see the big picture so to speak first. I like the necklace itself but all of it together may not look right.

@CodijoC:  I really like the necklace but I’m not sure if I’d wear it on my wedding day if my ex’s mom gave it to me?

ETA: If you really love the jewels in it, but have a hard time figuring out a time and place to wear such a statement necklace, maybe after the wedding (money permitting) you could get it reset into a bracelet and matching earrings, or something along those lines.

@ashe89:  I agree.

I’d probably feel hurt if my Fiance wore something one of his ex’s gave him on our wedding day.  But if your Fiance doesn’t mind and you really want to wear it, go for it.  It is pretty.  Very bold and large, but very pretty.

ETA- I just looked through your old threads and see that you are planning a peacock themed wedding with all blues and greens.  I’m not sure a ruby red necklace would look as perfect as the necklace you have pictured in this thread.   I don’t know how I feel about the necklace being the only piece of red in your wedding…it’ll definitely stand out.

@CodijoC:  Oh, I’m sorry.  It didn’t say that anywhere in your posts so I just assumed it was for your wedding day.

I love it!!! I would have such a hard time parting with it! What metal are the stones set in? It looks like sterling silver, but it’s hard to tell…

$3000 present from your EX-FI’s MOM!

Sounds like you should cash it in and put the money towards the wedding w/ your REAL FI! Wink

I’m not crazy about it as a bridal piece… ESP knowing where it came from. lol
