I did a trial run on my centerpieces last weekend. I’m not sure if I like them. they are gonna cost me $10 to make. I used white caranations because they are the most cost effective flower. I might still paint the vase to make it look like a silver ‘mercury glass’ vase. also i have a pillar cande in a vase as well. My table linens are the purple ones you see in the photo. My table will also be two feet longer, so everything will be spread out more.
I was told my flowers need to be higher and that the centerpiece looked like bread loafs? lol
what do you think?

Looks nice….simple yet elegant!

These were mine done with white carnations. I hated that the vase was see through, and I like that yours isn’t. I think you should paint it silver. I think it looks pretty.

I think they’re lovely! I don’t like high centerpieces because I can never see over them.

They’re sweet! You might consider a little higher and poofier but not too high as to make your guests have to strain to talk over them. I like that the vase base doesn’t take up a lot of room. The mercury paint effect you mention would look neat against the purple and help pick up the swishy line in the plates.

I think they’re lovely. Fresh flowers are always nice, and I like that they are low rather than high so that you can talk to the person across from you

@star_dust: my vases are see through, I just have a large green floral leaf wrapped around the floral foam.
since I am making them a day before the wedding with my maids, i wanted the process as easy and streamlined as possible. The leaves were a pain to wrap around the foam, so painting them would cut out that step. I’m gonna paint one and try it out, I’ll post on here for all to see.

I guess I should mention, those are just my house plates. the rental plates will just be plain white.

I voted no as is, but they would be a definite YES with the silver mercury finish you are thinking of! 🙂

I like them! We are opting for low floral arrangements because I think its awkward for guests when they are tall and blocking conversation/views.

I think they’re great…and don’t look like bread at all haha 🙂
