@o0olibelulao0o:  I actually know three baby Avery’s born in the last year, so it’s definitely becoming more popular. I think Avery Jean sounds nice, with your last name the way you wrote it out. Grace is a cute middle name, too. I’m personally not a fan of Kyler or McKenzie, though. Is Kyler often used as a name? I’m just thinking if I saw that on a list of names or on someone’s ID I’d think the ‘r’ at the end was a spelling error (no offense!).

I like Avery, with both Jean and Grace.  Not so keen on Kyler or McKenzie though, no idea why.

I do think you should have more pull on the name since he did one the boys name, but he should still be ok with (and preferably) like it.

I think Avery is a really pretty name for a girl. It’s actually on my list of future baby names (I’m not TTC yet, I’m just way ahead of myself!). I like the sound of Avery Grace better than Avery Jean. I also think Grace goes better with your last name than Jean, otherwise there will be two “J” names beside each other.

I don’t like the name Kyler as much as I like Avery. I’m not really a fan of names that sound too much like other names (eg Tyler, Skyler). That’s just my personal preference though…I feel the same way about other names that are really popular right now like Haydon, Jadon, Caden, Aiden. You get the picture… =)

Well, I can’t be unbiased about “Kyler” because my SO’s name is Kyle, so I view it and its derivatives as strictly boy names.

As for Avery..reminds me of aviary. As in place you house birds. Ava is nice though.

I like Avery, but it is surging in popularity right now, if that matters to you.  I prefer Jean as a middle name because it seems like every 3rd little girl born is given Grace as a middle.  And I like family names.

Not a fan of Kyler.  Or McKenzie.  Kyler is weird, and McKenzie seems a bit dated to me (was very trendy a few years ago).

I like Avery, but it’s definitely becoming more popular.  It always reminds me of Elizabeth Banks’ character on 30 Rock.

I like Kyler actually.  I recently read a romance book and a little boys name (the “hot guy’s” son) was Kyler, but I like it for a girl too.

Unfortunately, I am allll McKenzie’d out.  I feel like I have heard that name SO MANY times.

I love the name Avery.  Although I’m a little sad that it’s become predominantly a girl name now. I would so love it for a boy.  But it’s cute for a girl as well.

I’m not a fan of Kyler.  It just sounds like one of those made up trendy names of the moment.

hmmm if your husband is pushing for a “jr.” or III, could it just be that he tends to think of names more traditionally? names like mckenzie and avery arent totally out there, but they arent really long-standing traditional names like sarah or emily…

Avery is my 3rd fav girl’s name (behind Ainsley and Ellery), so I love that one.

I don’t like Kyler, just b/c an ex’s name was Kyle and my DH’s name is Tyler, so that’d be a weird mix for me. I also know a girl named Kyleann (like Kyle-Ann), who goes by Kyle, and I never liked it. But that’s just me.

I LOVE the name McKenzie, I knew a girl growing up with that name and I always thought she was so elegant. πŸ™‚
