Finding a decent quality photographer in our price range has been a struggle. All the quotes we’ve been receiving have been anywhere from $3000-$7000 which we simply do not have to spend. We found one photographer who seemed like a dream come true but like all things that seem to good it ended up being a disaster.
So we’ve finally met with three photographers whom we like and seem to work well with. We can customize our own package and the prices are all more or less the same(give or take a few dollars)
I’m just looking for some feedback/opinions of their quality and style because now I’m just overwhelmed by it all.

Just looking quickly, I found the first photographer had a lot of very posed shots and lots of photoshopping done. It was almost “instagram” looking. The third photographer had a lot more candid shots, but not all of them were particularly flattering, which makes me question why they’d put them on the portfolio. What woman wants a picture of the underside of her jaw where she will look HUGE in the face?
I really liked the second one. I liked the colours and the mixture of posed and candid photography. The people just looked… happier I guess, in them. At the same time, you still get the classic shots and shots of shoes, bouts, etc, which is the detail I would want.

The first photographer is the cheapest overall(though not by much)
The second photographer is the most expensive(again not by much) but has been the easiest to meet with.
The third photographer is a friend from high school who just started his business. I like that Fiance and I know him personally but I worry about booking friends simply because of the amount of people who get screwed over by “friends” on their wedding day.
Overall none of them are exactly what we went but exactly what we want comes with a steep price so we’ve had to discuss what sacrifices we make.
At this point I’m so done with it. I just want some nice candid pictures and maybe a few formal ones…idk.

- Wedding: July 2014 - Barn
Honestly, if you’re not completely satisified I would keep looking. I’m a photographer on the side myself and I knew when it came to finding one for my wedding I was probably going to go overboard. However, I looked around and found 5 that I like for under $3000 – shock!! All 5 of these I didn’t find by searching on google…Can’t remember exactly how I came across from them.. Think I would google “barn wedding (city)” and their portfolio would show up.
Sometimes it just takes time to look. Think what’s important to you – classic style, posed styled, candid pictures, soft colours, black and white, etc. I’m leaning towards the country soft vintage look with some normal ones for my fiance.
Personally I wouldn’t go with the third one – friends can be a tricky situation. And yes theyre candid photos, however photographers should know how to take pictures in lights – especially by windows.. His has patches of light all over her body and face – not a pretty look IMO.

Yeah we’re still keeping our eyes open. It just that good quality photographers are expensive (rightfully so because it’s an expensive process/business to keep up with)
We have enter some contests at such for photography packages but you know those are always a long shot so I’m not going to get my hopes up.
I guess we’ll see what happens.

I looked at them all and love the first one! It really depends on your style though. I love vintage style photography, and love the way they used light and wide angle lenses. I loved almost all of the ones that I saw!
The second one wasn’t my style at all.. Very minimal editing, some color pop.
Third I couldn’t see cuz I’m on my ipad and don’t have flash.
