I love the color but the style seems way too casual for your dress. A V neck would be flattering but for a large busted BM I would steer clear of strapless and one shoulder dresses. It can work on some but being large chested myself I can tell you it doesn't provide much support. Halter is VERY flatting for bigger busts though.
I love the dress. I don't think it has to "match" you bride's dress, but it does need to match the feel of your wedding.
I really like it, but I wouldn't rush in yet, keep looking around and whatever you do don't buy it befor yout bms can try it on.
@Ms Hedgehog: I really don't like the look of halters, but I'll keep that in mind about strapless and one shoulders. Thanks!
@helenberrycrunch: Thanks! I do think it matches the 'feel' of my wedding, which will be modern, whimsical, fresh, and romantic. What do you think?
@simpleandchic: The dress is online so they won't be able to try them on... but it's from a website that actually allows you to order custom sizes according to each bridesmaid's measurements, which is another 'pro'!
I think I'm with the rest of them on the dress - it's nice, but I'd keep looking. But I have to stop to tell you how much i LOVE your dress! Congrats on choosing a winner!
the dress is nice, just feel a little too simple to go with your wedding dress.
@anuicupcake: I love both of those gorgeous dresses, and your bm dress has pockets! Awesome! I have a big bridal party with different size girls so you could mix it up a bit and have the more endowed girls wear that one shoulder, you are looking for. You could mix it up with both styles or even three styles. It is your wedding day, do what you like. Nothing is too causal, or not the right shade, it will work. This bm dress thing has stressed me out, and I dont wanna see another bride get flustered with it. Happy Planning!
@pengoala: Aw thank you! I can't wait until April when it comes in :)
@ilovemydog: Too simple, you think? Bridesmaids dresses seem to always be on the simpler side. Of course, I don't want boring!
In general, I was kind of inspired by this picture of bright sunny yellow dresses, and it's so darn hard to find this shade of yellow! I guess that's why I was so excited about the dress in my original post. Well, it doesn't seem like the dress is going anywhere on the website I found it on, so I'll just file it away, wait a little longer, and keep looking around since spring stuff is coming out. Thanks everyone for your opinions!

Your dress is gorgeous. The BM dress is cute too. I agree with the others & wait a bit. I'm having the same problem. My BM are to be in yellow & my dress is satin with silver embroidery & beading on the bodice. Cotton may be too sundress like but if your wedding & reception is daytime it might be ok. Maybe I am too particular. I've been asking similar questions so what would I know lol. I would be interested to see what you decide on.
I'm doing yellow bridesmaid dresses too. Looking at JCrew right now but not a lot of choices. Where is this one from? I think it's great!
This is a dress I would wear as a wedding guest, so I would be scared to have them as a bridesmaid dress. Also, as a big busted girl V-Necks do not flatter us at all. I much prefer a strapless dress that doesn't show as much cleavage. And i'm the opposite of @Ms Hedgehog, I refuse to wear halter (especially those with a V-Neck) I feel like I'm going to fall out.
I love that dress. I would be so psyched to wear it as a bridesmaid. It's maybe the only BM dress I've seen that I would ACTUALLY wear again. It's so stylish! And I think it totally goes with your dress--the ruffles on the top of the BM dress echo the ruffle-y/feathery skirt on your dress. I love it! I don't think it's too simple...I really like it. Have I said that already? ;-)
@Ktmcp5899: This dress was from eShakti.com. Unfortunately... I waited too long and it's gone now :( The dress is still available in other colors but it's sold out in the yellow and I'm SO SAD because I still haven't found any yellow dresses and this was kind of my backup! I'm crossing my fingers it'll come back in stock...
@Cornhusker: The cool thing about this site/dress is that it's made custom for each girl, so the dress would be made with her bra size and measurements in mind so that it wouldn't be too low-cut. I'm kind of large up top for my size too, and I like v-necks if it's not too low. I hate halters too though! They're almost always too low for me.
@stillme: Aw thanks! I was really leaning toward buying it. So bummed that it's out of stock. :( Cross your fingers for me!!
I do like it, but I think that chiffon might compliment the lightness of your dress better.
I don't know if you've looked into the Jasmine brands at all, but they offer a cotton chiffon material that has a color really close to the one you want (it's called Sunflower). The other nice thing about the Jasmine lines is that if you find a dress you like that isn't in the right fabric, you can get the fabric you want for about $35 more in any style. Almost all styles also come in short and long.
We used the B2 by Jasmine line of dresses, and while they don't offer sunflower as a default color, I am pretty sure you could switch out the color for your girls if you ask.
Here's an example of the color.

What do you all think about this one? http://www.eshakti.com/clothpdpage.asp?catalog=Clothes&srch=golden+yellow&productid=CL0021904&pcat=
@tinylittlebird: I agree, a flowy dress would "go" with mine better, but flowy + sunny yellow apparently don't go together because it's been really hard to come by! I like the dresses you sent, but from prior experience, it seems like any 'bridesmaid dress' brands are crazy expensive! My budget is $100 or less... hopefully a LOT less!
I like that one! Although, the discussion about them needing to be flowier might be the problem maker...I love the stronger tone of the yellow on this new dress though!

I've been looking for bright, sunshine yellow bridesmaid dresses and it seems as though stores are finally starting to break out their brighter dresses for spring - yay! I found this dress below - the pros are that it's the perfect yellow, it's a pretty flattering a-line silhouette (one of my bmaids has wide hips and I think this would be perfect), it's well within my budget, AND it has pockets! Gotta love pockets. :)
I have a few questions/doubts. First, does it 'go' with my dress? My dress (as you can see above) is very flowy, made of tulle and English netting, while this bmaid dress is made of cotton poplin. I was originally looking for a flowy bmaid dress but I think it's a little hard to find bright yellow in soft fabrics. Second, is cotton poplin too casual? Our wedding won't be too formal, but I'm just wondering if it's not a fabric appropriate for bmaid dresses. Last, would the v-neck be flattering on everyone? One of bmaids has very big boobs and I don't want her popping out. I was originally looking for a one-shoulder dress to provide coverage for her.
What do you think?? Should I continue looking for the one-shoulder flowy dress that I was originally looking for? Would love your opinions!
