I think it’s a lot of dress, and very formal. As long as you like pickups, it’s a nice dress. Hopefully your dress is quite formal too!

@MuchGreater:  I personally would choose a different dress for the bridesmaids that is not as elaborate. To me this dress could pass as a wedding dress….IF your dress is very formal go for it, if not, then tone down the bridesmaids.

@MuchGreater: hhmmm maybe try telling them, that you want them to get a dress that they could use again?? I dont think it will sound bad, if you say it nicely. I would say:

“I like this dress but I think its too elaborate for you guys. I want y’all to be comfortable and also have a chance to wear this dress again.”

>>> uughhh I really suck at this LOL!

Anyways I dont think they would get offended

My FI just glanced at my computer and asked if that was my dress. In other words, he thought it was a bridal gown. Of course it won’t look like one in black but I think it’s still a whole lotta dress.

Just be honest with your bridesmaids. They are your friends, and they will understand. It’s your wedding and you should have the final say.

@MuchGreater: Woah. they bought patterns without getting the okay from you? Not okay! I would tell them that one of your friends’ fiances saw it and asked if it was YOUR dress, which kinda confirmed your fears that it’s too bridal looking and that you’ll totally reimburse them for the patterns but would like to egt something a little less ballgown-ish for them.

(they don’t have to know that the ‘friend’ is a WB friend, lol)

@MuchGreater:

Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.

I think that without the pin-ups it would be just fine. A-line is perfect.
