wow, sounds like a really bad friend was your BM.

I do agree with you that for a heavier and/or pregnant BM that dress is going to be very hard to wear since it’sdropped waist and so tight around the tummy area.

The color is pretty,. but I don’t see how it compliments your dress anymore than most strapless gowns would.

Is this dress already 100% decided and you just want opinions or are you still up in the air?

Could maybe just your MOH wear this dress and your other girls wear it in the same color and fabric but a different style?

It’s probably best that your bridesmaid dropped out, she probably would have made everything pretty difficult for you.

I personally would not like to wear this dress as a pregnant woman. I think it’s nice that your friend is willing to wear it, but for her sake you might want to try something a little more flattering.

I think it’s a pretty dress, and I agree with previous posters that 1. the similarity is in the similar neckline which can be found in a lot of additional pretty dresses and 2. that seems like it would be uncomfortable for someone who is pregnant.

And it’s probably just the fact that the model is so thin, though it feels like it may not be as flattering for larger size people–looking at that I’d probably feel a bit uncomfortable in it.  Though, that could be just because of personal comparisons.

If you’re seeking out dress consistancy, I think you’ll be able to fine another BM dress with a similar neckline (which can nicely compliment your dress), and one that will be more pleasing to multiple body types.

It’s a beautiful dress but unless your BM is only a couple months pregnant, I don’t really see how it will fit her. There is no give in the stomach area since the waist is so low.

That dress is pretty, but form-fitting gowns like that are not the most comfortable thing. I personally love them, but I can’t imagine that being comfortable for a pregnant woman.

@Miss Zinfandel: I’d pick something that’s fitted at the waist but flares out at the hip (in other words, a traditional A-line gown). It takes a lot of confidence (and usually Spanx, even if you’re super-skinny) to rock something fitted all the way through the hip like that gown!

This one is really pretty and the line isn’t as severe: http://www.morilee.com/bridesmaids/bridesmaids/633

The detail will provide a focal point for the eye, instead of focusing on the stomach region (which is what the strapless dress was making me look at).

I think the bridesmaids dress would be a difficult style for someone pregnant to wear. What about something like this?

Or this?

It’s a pretty big bummer when you have your heart set on something and it doesn’t work out 🙁 It’s hard to imagine a wedding without something that you were so decided on! Luckily for you, there are TONS of dresses out there. I would suggest even looking at places like Macy’s, they tend to have really cute and different styles. Good luck!

@Miss Zinfandel: The top one is Alfred Angelo #7132 and is satin. The bottom one is Mori Lee #283 (and Mori Lee #287 is also similar), taffeta.
