it’s very pretty, but without seeing your first dress too (and maybe even pix of both dresses on you) it’s hard to say.  what is your other dress like, besides A-line and satin with a bit of beading?  where is the beading, and in what sort of pattern?  what’s your venue like?

Have you tried this one on? As a bride who just bought a second dress this week, I can only say, that when you know you know — if you are still looking for at other wedding gowns, wondering what if, your dress is probably not the right one ๐Ÿ™ My original dress would have “done” as well but I wanted to feel amazing and perfect on my wedding day so I bit the bullet and bought a new one. It.was.the.best.decision.I.could.have.made. Worth every penny. Good luck with whatever you decide!

This dress is a far cry from the description you gave of the dress you purchased. If you want more detail/”bling” I’d go with this one.

This dress is pretty I like it, but the question is do you want it over the other dress???

I need to see the other dress, but if you are having dress regret you have plenty of time to get a new one.

    Good Luck and happy planning

yeah yeah I agree we need your first dress!

I’m practically running a bridal boutique with the number of dresses I’ve bought/sold but my ONE is really awesome and was the only one I felt was lush and worthy enough to be MY dress… it still needs a sash but its THE one.

BUT for me, All signs pointed me to it: price, fit, fabric, subtle details, etc ;]

oh and all the other dresses I bought on a whim because they were on crazy amazing sale and were VERY pretty dresses BUT I also made 2-3 times the amount I spent on them in selling them on eBay after so it was definitely worth it to me to buy and sell buy and sell… I paid for MY dress (a Kenneth Pool for Priscilla of Boston Platinum Collection Sample that I got for $500 marked down from $4375 at their going out of business sale! EEEEP!!)  although its been a horrible rollercoaster of emotion and BOXES EVERYWHERE in my room THAT deal made it worth it… its the best dress I’ve ever had on my body and I just found out my late grandmother’s dress was Priscilla of Boston so that makes it even MORE special~ like she sent me this amazing deal on this amazing dress so that I’d stop the crazy dress buying spree! lol

Lets see your first dress… if you’re questioning it, and have the room in your budget to get it, I say definitely try on the other and consider another… you dont want to settle!

I love the picture of the new dress, but without seeing it on you I can’t say to go one way or the other. You need to try it on before you decide! and post pictures of you in the dress your nan bought and the new one you want!

    @Gemma_Leigh:  Oh my dear… what a predicament you have~

Altho the first dress is doable… I would definitely try on the Alfred Angelo to see your options.

There are some amazing features on the AA dress and your envy is understandable.

Here’s what I would do (after researching what you might be able to regain if you sold ur current dress):

    1) Make an appointment for an Alfred Angelo location near you (I hope there is one?)

    2) Get dolled up & try on your current dress and take a good inventory of how it makes you feel, what you loved about it first and what made you say yes and get all excited enough to buy it.

    3) Go to your apt at AA and try on this one your lusting after. Tell your consultant you already have a dress but that you saw this one and you want to weigh it all out.  Make a mental list of the things that you like about it and size up how it feels as opposed to your other dress and all the pros/cons. Imagine yourself coming down the isle, looking at yourself in the mirror, make up hair done etc everything!

    4) go home and think about it honestly and wholeheartedly. Is it the one? is the fact that your nan bought it for you that important to the decision? Are you really unimpressed with your current dress? does the AA kick that much butt? Can you buy a gently used one or a sample to save some money on the AA? What do YOU want for YOUR day… the dress is a reflection of YOU and you must be honest with yourself.

Truthfully I could look at dresses all day AND I could get married in many different dresses at many different venues and be as happy as ever because I love weddings… but what I keep finding I must do is purify my vision to what IIIIIII actually desire in my heart of hearts and that the day is really about my fiance & I.. even if he doesn’t really care as much as I do haha

Whatever you do, don’t make any quick decisions. Be meanful and methodical in your next move and save yourself all the time and trouble I went through ;]

Good luck my dear! Give us an update!

I also think you really need to try on that other dress. I absolutely love the dress you already have, but maybe you need to make sure you dont keep thinking “what if..” So Try and get some pictures of the AA dress on you so we can help you out ! ๐Ÿ™‚
