What do you think of this for holding cards?

I haven't put a lot of thought into a card holding receptacle for the reception.  Would a large basket with a pretty ribbon on the handle be OK?  It's a very small reception, with mostly family, so theft shouldn't be an issue.

As long as it's in a secure location (ie, not a public hotel with lots of random people walking by), I don't see why it would be a problem.  I would err on the side of caution-- at my brother's recent wedding, some of the cards had crazy amounts of cash in them.

As a matter of style, I think it's cute.  As a matter of security, I'm not sure.  You say your family wouldn't steal.  What about the staff at the venue?  Any random dates, or boyfriends you really don't know?  But you're the best judge of how safe it will be at your reception.  Maybe someone can be in charge to take it someplace secure, after the guests have arrived.

Eh, I wouldn't do it. Play it safe. You can never trust the staff.

It really is sad that we have to think this way, but I agree and would err on the side of caution.
