Fiance and I are planning to have our reception at Stack, a restaurant in the Mirage after our Volcano ceremony. There will be about 30 people so we have to go with a group menu. We chose their mid range menu and substitued their regular appetizer (a large shell fish stack) for the ones below because I don’t eat fish. We’ll be doing a consumption based full bar with dinner.
I’m getting ready to firm up the plans with the restaurant and was wondering what everyone thought of this menu.
*We will be offering a vegetarian dish as well but it hasn’t been decided on yet.*
ADULT TATERTOTS – Bacon and Brie filled tatertots
HOT ROCKS – Thinly sliced sirloin prepared tableside on large hot rocks
BIBB “WEDGE” SALAD – Bibb Lettuce, Tomato, Bacon, Chopped Egg, Blue Cheese, Vinaigrette
Entrees (choose one):
PENNE PASTA – Parmesan Truffle Sauce, Proscuitto
PAN ROASTED CHICKEN – Simply Roasted, Thin Green Beans
9 OZ FILET – Served with Signature Sauces
Accompanied by Baby Vegetables, Whipped Potatoes, Spiced Hand Cut Fries – Shared For The Table
Chef’s Nightly Selection

Your menu sounds delicious, my mouth is literally watering!
My only suggestion (and it’s really minor) is that a lot of people don’t like salads with bacon on them (I love them, personally, but I’ve worked in restaurants, and probably half of people request their salads “without bacon”), so, you might want to offer a second salad option. Although, it’s not a big deal, and people could probably order it without or pick it off depending on their level of pickiness.
ETA: Many people also don’t like bleu cheese. I think you have enough other food, though, that people could just skip the salad course if they don’t like it 🙂

That sounds delicious :d I want some of those tots

@Aure: That sounds good, but do you also have veggie options for the apps and the salad? (Since the salad has bacon….)

@les105: That’s their default salad with the group menu. I can only offer one and to get anything different I’d have to step up in price. Do you think it’d be a huge deal?

@AshleyR83: We’re only going to have one vegetarian and the venue is willing to make sure she’s taken care of, we just haven’t discussed exactly what that specific menu is yet.

@Aure: No, I honestly don’t think it’d be a huge deal. Honestly, there is plenty of other food for people who don’t like it, and, like I said, they could always pick it off!

those tater tots sound amazing! i think the menu overall sounds really good. the only problem that you may run into is that there is meat in every course, with no non-meat options. do you know if any of your guests are vegetarians?

@MelissaSB: Yes, I mentioned in the first post that we hadn’t decided on the veggie option yet. I made it a bit more obvious.

Sounds good to me! I wouldn’t eat the salad but there’s plenty of other things I would eat so it wouldn’t be a big deal. 🙂
