My guy and I are not pregnant yet and won’t be for another two years due to him being in the military (he gets out in August of 2014). However, we have been swapping around baby names because it’s fun. I have come up with a name for a boy that I love: Tristan Adam. I haven’t told my guy about it yet because he is out to sea at the moment. What do you think of this name?

I like Adam. Tristan sounds like a girl’s name to me.

I may be biased with my love of good strong Irish names, but I loooove Tristan.

Tristan makes me think of Tristan & Isolde… as in a very old name, if that’s what you like. I don’t think it’s feminine though (unlike a PP), I do think of it as a boy’s name – one of my brother’s teenage friends is named Tristan but that’s the only kid I know with the name.

I don’t like the name because I have connections to a Tristan who I don’t like haha.
But I think it’s a good soild name, with no silly nicknames or anything. Just make sure your last initial isn’t going to give him a weird mongram, like TAR or TAX. I like it.

Aw the first boy I ever had a crush on (I was 5!) was named Tristan, so I’ve always had a soft spot for it!

I’ve known two Tristans in my life. Both were female. One was a complete biotch and so the name leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I like the name Adam though.

I love the name Tristan, but it does sound a bit romance novelly!! Beautiful choice though, and I think Tristan Adam has a nice ring to it.

i think it sounds good together, so i like it. and honestly, i feel bad for you since some people are saying they don’t like it. this is why i didn’t share the name of my son with anyone!

I think when you ask people “do you like this” they really answer “would you pick this name yourself”. I do like the name. It sounds romantic. It sounds like he’s going to be swashbuckling and also a bit sensitive poet. Or maybe just a guy with really good hair who looks nice in jeans.

I like it. That was Brad Pitts characters name in one of my fav movies, Legends of the Fall.

Love it! I like names that are traditional but not overly popular
