Ok, whaddaya think? I plan on changing out my makeshift jump ring for a real one and putting it on a long silver chain to give to one of my wedding helpers. She likes eclectic things, and I saw a cute necklace on Etsy and was all " can make that!" and I think it’s close….but I’m worried mine looks really sloppy in comparison. I also posted the one that I was trying to mimic….i wish the bead store I went to had clear stones, but here’s what I’ve got. Be honest, I don’t want to accidentally give her junk, and I know I tend to be insanely critical of my own work!
I might need more practice wrapping the metal.

I think it’s beautiful! Your wire wrapping is very good, I wish mine was as good as that. I’m just using jump rings and bails for my necklaces!

I think it’ll look even better with a smaller ring (like in your inspiration photo)- the crystals will look better all clumped together like that (the bigger one gives them more space I think?). 🙂

Ok, whew! I misplaced my jewelry making box (i was cleaning…it was sitting in the corner being an eyesore. Now of course i can’t find the damn thing! Grrr) so if i don’t get that jump ring soon i’ll buy some. I think it’ll make a big difference. I just don’t want her to be like "wow….thanks for the…."homemade"…gift" and it be chintsy. I know it’s not everyones’ taste but I already ran this by her husband AND her sister and the style got big thumbs up

For the wire wrapping, I placed the loop portion over my round nosed pliers and clamped down tightly. Then i used another pair of pliers to wrap, then i used my right hand. But you really have to use your round pliers to hold it lke that, otherwise it turns out like my first few attempts which were more like, whimsical and messy looking.

I agree that a smaller jump ring would make a big difference in pulling the pendant together. But I love the stones you’ve chosen and the wire wrapping looks nice! Very pretty.

I’ll repost when I find my stupid flippin’ jewelry making box! Sheesh. don’t you hate when you "clean up" and then LOSE stuff in the process?! i know it’s in my house….*sigh*

It’s really lovely and you did a fantastic job. I would go with the smaller ring too, but that’s only because we’re seeing the original, if I hadn’t seen it, the larger ring may not have bothered me. But, if it’s easy to do, then do it and be confident in it! I’m sure she is going to love it!

I think it is very nice and agree about the smaller!
