I don’t think it’ll look right with the sapphire.

How expensive is the ring you are looking to get? If it’s super expensive, I would first purchase a ring or pendant off ebay to see if I really liked it. It just might be one of those things that look really nice, but you don’t end up liking.

There are some really cheap [and im sure probably lab created] versions on ebay for under $20.

I don’t really like that setting with it. I feel like the beauty of that stone is its depth and dimension, with all the different colors so seamlessly blending together. The sapphires just look flat and two-dimensional and don’t mesh well with it. I personally think it’d look lovely in a thin, simple yellow gold bezel.

    ETA: Like one of these:

    Or maybe even:

I think it looks pretty bad with the sapphires. It clashes. Sorry.

jenilynevette:  Ok where did you find this ring and is it under the $20 you mentioned because that is STUNNING and I may just treat myself to an early Christmas present!!

pinkshoes:  I agree with PPs, I think the dark sapphires will take away from the beauty of this stone! I would go a solitaire, bezel or prong set. If you really love the halo style setting go for diamonds or moissy (ie a clear stone).

pinkshoes:  I’ll go against the grain here — I think it would look really cool with the sapphires! I’m seeing hints of deep blue in the mystic topaz, so I think it would be compatible with the deep blue sapphires.

jenilynevette:  Ahhhh thank you so much! If my e ring is a 4.25 what do you think the chances are that the 6 will fit on my right hand? (middle finger even)

OneDayMrsL:  I’m not sure. I would think a 6 would probably fit your middle finger, but I’m not really sure!

I think that setting would look really pretty with pink sapphire or pink topaz side stones. Could they change the blue sapphires to another color?
