I currently have a simple, classic solitare. We got this as I was having a hard time deciding on the setting when we got engaged.
We discussed and will be re-setting the ring to something more elaborate in the coming year. I think that the solitaire is classic, but really want more bling.
In trying on various settings, the one in the link below looked the best on my finger. I was surprised because the pic on the website didn’t do much for me.
What are your thoughts (be honest- I won’t be offended). Do you think this is too much for everyday wear?

Um…………okay first i have to tell you that I’m a snob and I work in the art field.
That ring just screams old lady to me. Seriously, you can get a setting like that when you are 65. I’m 40 and recently engaged and I wouldn’t even wear something that old fashioned. Try to remember that Tiffany is for the masses – I suggest looking at smaller companies to maybe find something a bit fresher. And note that this is just my opinion and I’m just one bee in the hive.

Ehh, I think it is too much also. I am a jewelry fanatic, and I wouldn’t wear something that elaborate every day.
Plus, would you do a blingy wedding band in addition? When finding a new setting, keep a wedding band in mind, too.
Ultimately the setting you and your FI choose, must be something YOU like. I know you are just looking for opinions, but don’t let us sway you one way or the other.
Good luck, and how exciting to be getting a new setting! 🙂

@sfchick: Not a problem at all. Thanks for your feedback! I was undecided so I definitely appreciate the opinions of others (both positive and negative).
The solitaire ring is from Tiffany, so we need to stick with Tiffany for the setting. I am older (but many years away from 65!) =)

@FutureMrs.Wood: No, if I had that ring, I would not do a wedding band with it.

If you like that style look at Neil Lane for Kay.

Personally it is too much for my taste. There is just a lot going on there and it really takes away from the centre stone in my opinion. I think I might like it more if there were no diamonds on the band. This might sound really bad (don’t hate me) but the diamonds along the top of the band remind me of some kind of small eggs I think without those, the top part where it crosses around the centre stone is pretty.

I may be alone, but I actually really like the setting, particularly if it is the only ring you will wear. Also….ultimately if you love it, and you think you’ll love looking at it every day, then do it.

@NauticalBride2011: not alone! i like this setting, its unique and shiny! i really love the band – i could do without the halo around it but overall i think its pretty 🙂

I like it too. Although, my setting has 3 diamond bands…and man..when that baby hits certain lights, WATCH OUT! haha. (I can send you a pic if you want)
If you like it, go for it! And so what if it’s an “old lady ring” you’ll be wearing it when you’re old and grey, right?!

i like everything about it except the fact that the circle around the solitaire….TOTALLY takes away from the center stone!
I love the band itself though!

Here is a picture of it on someone’s hand (the only one I could find on the net). I tried taking pics of it in the store on my hand, but they did not come out very well.
I am torn- so please keep the opinions coming!

It looks way better in the picture where someone is wearing it.
