So, I think we (maybe) finally found a song for our first dance that my Fiance and I can agree upon! Originally, I wanted “Our House” by Crosby Stills Nash & Young but he thought it was too “la la.” Yes, that’s what he said…too “la la!” Then he wanted John Legend’s “Stay with You,” which I thought was too gospelly. Then we heard “Angel Dream” by Tom Petty (whom I LOVE) and I think it might be it! I want something meaningful and classic rock that won’t ever get old and he wants something “deep” where he feels the like the world disappears around us and we can just focus on eachother. What do you think? Does it work as a first dance? This is the live version, but it wouldn’t be for the wedding. They sound the same though!
What song did you picked, or what song are you considering, and why? Post a link!
I think it is beautiful and unique, and hits just the right tones you each seek in a first dance song! I’ve never heard Angel Dream before but I love it and look forward to sharing it with my husband. Thanks for posting!
We chose That’s All sung by Michael Bublé. We love its warmth and sweetness. It was just right for us.
We’re having “Always a Woman To Me” by Billy Joel followed by “It Must Be Jelly (‘Cause Jam Don’t Shake Like That)” by Woody Herman. Both songs mean a lot to us and both describe me pretty well (chubby and an itch with a B).
Ours is “My Bestfriend” by Tim McGraw. I love Tim McGraw, and country music in general. I actually did a presentation for a course about a song that has significant meaning to me. I chose this song and got totally choked up during my presentation, talking about previous relationships, and how this song totally describes how I feel about my fiance.
FH actually found our song last week! We are going to do 311’s cover of “Love Song” by The Cure. It’s perfect because I love The Cure and anything 80s, but “Love Song” is a little fast. FH loves 311 and their version is slower and easier to dance to:
We are going to do a mash up of “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum (which has been our song forever) and “Fly Me to the Moon” by Sinatra. SO wants to do a swing dance song and I want a really pretty waltzy type of song, so we came up with this, lol.
To us it fits us both. We had both been hurt but more on my side I was so afraid to just let go and fall in love but he showed me it would be okay time and time again and would do anything for me. So it fits us. And we love Adele.
@Stammie16We actually thought about using Adele’s version of Lovesong too. It is one of my favorite songs but we went with One and Only. Not that I am plugging her, but her version is great too. Just incase you aven’t heard it.
I toyed around with the idea of having “You’ll Always Be My Best Friend” by Reliant K or “Everything” by Michael Buble, but my fiance said that we should dance to our song because it’s… well… our song! lol
