Hey Waiting bees (or those engaged that wanna play)
What do you THINK you’d want your wedding to be like right now? I’m sure things will change once sites and scheduling is involved, but I’d always loved the idea of an intimate candlelit winter wedding with the best french food and reds, blues, and creams (like the French flag), a HUGE dessert extravaganza, and dancing til dawn. Obviously, budget will screw that, but right now, its good to dream.
I also am envious of exotic destination weddings, like a safari wedding in South Africa! So “Out of Africa” fabulous!
What do you guys fantasize for a wedding?

Now that I’m 19 days out, I can honestly say that if I were doing it all over again this would be my fantasy wedding:
Outside, under an Oak tree in a Texas pasture with a simple sundress and a flower in my hair with him, a preacher and two witnesses. After that, a party under the stars with lanterns in the trees and an acoustic guitar with all our nearest and dearest. We’d probably eat german barbeque and drink sweet tea. (:
That being said, I wouldn’t trade my 200-guest formal church, wine and cheese and dj’d reception for anything! (:

OOO. Hopefully this will come true!
I want to have a celebrant who can combine a Christian-like ceremony with a Hindu garland exchange and some Persian traditions along with our nikkah. The reception venue would ideally have a mandap with a sofreh aghd spread. I want the venue to be dark, with purple lights on the side, fushia table cloths with bright orange chair ties, and the center pieces should be submerged marigolds with rose petals all around and tealight candles… and dancing! There should be at-will interaction all around, with brief explanations of why we are doing the different multicultural elements and what they mean to us.
Or we’re toying with an outdoor wedding, moroccan tent-type thing. 🙂

I have everything planned or at least researched my bf every now and again encourages it. I would go with a red/brown/gold color scheme for a fall wedding (September/October), the perfect venue would be the Pleasantdale Chateau that one of the blogger bee’s featured in one of her posts, talle vase centerpieces with gorgeous bright red apples, favors would be donations, music well tons of it I love to dance, and a gorgeous wedding cake with red roses and maybe gold trim. There is lots more, but it’s so much to type ha

@dee to bee: See? Yeah, I feel that we’d have a big wedding too, but its nice to think about how sweet it would be with just the two of us and the stars! Soo romantic. But then, not everyone can experience the fun, haha. You’re going to have a fabulous day! Its so close!
@mmmtacos: I love me a Moroccan tent!

… I want a petting zoo. At a putt putt course. And yet NOT ONE PERSON I KNOW thinks this is an awesome idea. We’d still have a super traditional ceremony but the reception should be FUN. And I don’t dance.

I have two fantasy weddings that I have formed over the years:
1. A sunset beach wedding and reception with a tent covered in brightly covered paper lanterns with a clambake dinner (this would be a small wedding). I would have a flowy, simple, beachy dress, and it would be completely whimsical and relaxed–think bonfires, dancing under the stars, bare feet, and close friends and family. It would essentially be a big party.
2. A picnic-like wedding where I get married either outside or in a small chapel, with the reception outdoors in the afternoon. Think a mix of garden/tea party, but less formal. This one would be a big, fun picnic!

We have already deided we are doing a destination wedding in cancun. My family owns a place there so we are going to bring immediate family and best friends and spend either a thur-sun (spring break) or a fri-mon (memorial weekend).

I kinda wish I had stuck to my original plan of a barn, a pecan orchard, barbecue and sweet tea! 🙁
