Soo I just got this done and about passed out when I found out the final bill (granted, it was a full highlight, not a partial, and I also bought some conditioner...but still!) I'm just curious, what do you ladies usually pay?

i get partials - with a haircut and tip and all that? at least 100 bucks. It's a bit expensive but better than doing it at home, my goodness.

Um, under $50 usually. I go to a hair academy and a full foil runs me about $35 and a haircut is about $10 or, the last two times, it was free.

I think $55 is the most i've ever paid. Plus tip.

Also my SIL does my foils at cost if i want them (i don't bug her though) and cuts my hair for free. I only go to her for drastic changes (more than a trim) cuz i don't want to take away from her real clients.

Oh my hair is long (bra strap) and very thick so a highlight would cost me a TON

I don't usually get highlights, and pay between 50 and 100 for a haircut.  If I were to get highlights, that would send it up towards $200.  yuck.

I spend about $150 for a full foil and trim.  More if I want a completely different hairstyle.  I have really think hair that goes down 4ish inches past my shoulders.

I pay about $120 for partial highlights and a cut. That includes tip. It's a little higher if I decided to go with two colors instead of one (sometimes I like to weave a little of my natural color back in so that the blonde doesn't start looking trashy) or if I get a brow wax, too. I know this is a little high, especially for my area, but I'm spoiled. My mom is a hairstylist, so until I moved back to my hometown without her 2 years ago, I got everything done for free. But my mom is THE BEST. She's an on-call educator for Paul Mitchell and has been in the business for 20+ years. It took me going to 4 different salons in my little town before I found someone who could do my hair right. :) Now that I have my stylist, I'm not so concerned about the cost. $120 every 6 weeks is not really that bad (to me anyway).

Where I live now its waaay cheaper usually around 75 to 100. When I was in school in Charleston, SC it cost me about 160.00 to get full highlights and a cut, that was w/o tip, but I also am always charged more b/c they have to use more stuff since I have A LOT of hair.

@Zippylef, I go to the Salon Professional in St Charles.  You can end up with a really bad student stylist or a really great one--I had one who was GREAT for the past year and a half but i've had trouble the last few times. My last stylist left early (my hair was still wet!) and someone had to finish me up and the two times before that my stylist didn't even show up! It's best if you find a girl you like and request her every time you go. Also the girls around you will talk about how they got wasted the night before or gossip about who's pregnant or talk about their boy drama with you and it gets annoying so i just read my magazines and tune them out.

But i've never had a problem with my color being bad or anything bad like that! And it's so inexpensive I just don't worry about it. They're just sort of stupid girls working there =\

Oh and around Christmas they do great sales! They had a "buy $150 worth of gift cards, get $200 worth of services free!" so i paid $150 and got a $200 GC for myself and that was 6 months ago. I still have money on my card! And i get my hair done every 6-8 weeks.

@Candy_Nee - I go to Destenee Salon & Spa in Chapel Hill. My stylist is Carrie and she did an AWESOME job, it was just a lot more expensive than I expected. They had to put toner on my hair to tone down the highlights (my hair lifts crazy easily) so that added another 25 bucks. With the conditioner I bought and an admittedly generous tip, it came to $200...I had NO idea it could be so expensive! I love my stylist but I might be looking for a new salon...

About $150 for a cut and full highlight, plus tip. I've never minded paying for my hair, it is my best feature and the outfit you wear every day.

I am from a small town, and my wonderful and amazing hairstylist's rates are superb. She does amazing work, and for a fraction of what I would pay in a big city. For the haircut it is usually 25.00 because I will usually get it straightened.  But if I do color, she charges me about 40-45 for the whole thing, the color and the cut and style. It really isn't bad!
