I’m sure there have been tons of threads about this but I thought I’d start another one. My husband is expanding his photography business to include weddings. He has done a bunch so far but is still looking to perfect the packages he offers. Do you guys still like ordering wedding albums, or would you rather just have your pics on a cd so you can make the album yourself?? Is there anything else you specifically wanted from your photographer or that you have heard of that you thought was a good idea??? We just got married 6 months ago so of course he knows the type of photography stuff that I wanted as a bride but any input from others would be a great help! Thanks!

that’s great for your husband and very exciting! as for the albums, i think packages both with and without the album are good because of the flexibility–some people don’t want to splurge for the nicer albums that come from a photographer, but you never know they may change their minds once they see the great photos!

I would definitely inlcude packages with albums and maybe flexibility for parent/in-law albums? IMO wedding photos are a way to memorialize your wedding for years to come and to share the experience with those who may have not been there, and with those that were. Best of luck with his new endeavour!

A variety of packages, options within packages, items a la carte that are still not outrageously priced…
For options within packages, my photog did something that I really think is cool – each of her packages include so many ‘add ons’ – the lowest has 2 add ons included, the highest has 6. Then there’s a list of ‘add on’ options (9 total I think), like a 1 hr engagement shoot, an 11×14 canvas print, a photo guestbook (using images from the engagement shoot), a 1 hr bridal/ttd/boudior shoot (you pick one), a faux-tobooth for the reception, etc. It’s cool because your package gets to include exactly what you actually want the most!
