I say, do what you want.  I know you are “suposed” to wear it closest to your heart- but I actually wear my wedding band on my right hand.  🙂

I wear my wedding band first and then my engagement ring. Partly because my engagement ring is a little bigger so it fits better that way. I have worn them switched sometimes and its uncomfortable because it keeps turning.

I think traditionally the band is worn on the bottom – closer “to your heart”.

However, wear it however you like!  Screw tradition!

Traditionally, the wedding ring does go on the bottom, although now, it seems as though pretty much anything goes!   From what I’ve been told, wearing a third ring on top symbolizes an eternity band.    FI and I didn’t know that when we bought two wedding bands for me – we just loved the look of the super skinny, sparkly band on the top and bottom of my thicker band engagement ring.   Apparently for the ceremony, I’ll wear the eternity band on my right hand with my engagement ring and we’ll just use one of the bands as the proper wedding band.

wedding band should go on the finger first.

Since I got the wedding band first and the “e-ring” second, I wear them backwards from everyone else, diamond closer to my palm, plain ring closer to my fingertip

I posted this on another thread, but I chose to wear my engagement ring on the inside, my wedding ring on the outside (or “on top”). I know it’s customary to wear the wedding ring “closer to the heart,” but I’m not particularly sentimental and I could think of three reasons to do the opposite: (1) that’s the order in which I received them, (2) the engagement ring is more expensive, so I’d rather lose the wedding ring (yes, I’m THAT unsentimental! LOL), and (3) I simply like the way it looks. Wearing the e-ring on the outside just looks funny to me. Am I alone in this?

I am wearing the wedding band 1st because we got married before he prepose… long story… But I do agree with NotYourTypicalBride lol

@NotYourTypicalBride: I totally agree with the 3 reasons you gave for wanting to wear the E-ring on the inside. I think I will be doing this too.

I think my rings look awkward with the wedding band on the outside, so I wear the e-ring on the outside. Personal preference, though.

My engagement ring sits inside my wedding band, so technically I don’t do either.  It looks like I have three rings on, but it’s actually only two, and since the wedding ring is on the outside, I guess you can say my wedding ring is on first, closest to my heart.
