Hi Bees! I hope this is the right place to put this thread.
My mother & father very generously are providing me with a new work wardrobe as a graduation present. I’m afraid I’m rather clueless about fashion so I was wondering:
1) What do you wear to work?
2) What pieces of clothing do you consider work wardrobe staples?
P.S. Oh! I forgot to add that my new job will be in an office environment that a little more casual (eg. no business suits worn).

I’m going to be a teacher, and I mostly wear slacks and cardigans to my field placements. I also have a couple of knee length skirts and dresses. It’s all from Loft and New York & Company.
A black cardigan, a blazer, and a good pair of slacks are all definitely must-haves.

Cardigans and pencil skirts in ever color. And dresses, lots of dresses.

I wear a lot of dresses and skirts. I love dresses. I wear pencil skirts and fit and flare (A-line) dresses. I wear suits in the fall and winter but I like to have fun with tights and colorful jewelry when I can. I also wear heels everyday and hardly ever expose my toes in the office. I personally think its inappropriate.

Sweats, nike shoes and t-shirt. Lol. I work with dogs. Manage a kennel and groom.

Make friends with my good friend Marie Claire.
I love a good black blazer. I teach arts and crafts to children so I mostly wear black yoga pants and a hip vintage tee with a blazed. The pants are because of the glue and pant

I’m an engineer, and I work in our head office. I wear skirts and dresses every day and then jeans on Fridays. I dislike dress pants so I prefer skirts/dresses and I just add tights in the winter.
My personal favorite wardrobe staples are my opaque black tights, a couple black/grey skirts and this black knit sweater. I also have a lot of pink…

I work in a very casual office so I wear anything I want really. Usually jeans and a t shirt or a casual dress with a cardigan.

Where I work, it is business casual unless Friday than you can wear jeans. Or you have a company t shirt than you can wear jeans and tennis shoes. Or if you have casual day sticker than you can also wear jeans on a non Friday. What I wear is dress pants, nice top/sweater. Skirts.

I show my feet in the office but my toes are super cute. But I never expose my shoulders ….so I feel it evens out

Jeans or khakis, a t-shirt, and flip flops. But I’m an engineer and people sometimes ask if you’re interviewing at another company if you dress up 😛

Warm weather outfits: black trousers, blouses, jersey dresses, and my go-to black skirt. Cold weather gear: trousers and twinsets, long skirts with turtlenecks, and a couple of dresses.
Tim Gunn has a great list of basics!

I’m an engineer too and wear jeans, a nice-ish top, not too fancy, but not just a sloppy t shirt, and heels.
