Dad is a Forestry Contractor - Lumberjack/planter/tree-related things - he started out collecting logs as his first job at 15, and at the age of 21 he went into business by himself - he's now got a really succesful business, employing around 50 people and with contract over the UK - all my brothers work for him, and one is his business partner - I'm really proud of him.

Mum was a childminder, but now looks after adults with various levels of mental disabilities - I admire her for doing the jb she does.  She's often on the receiving end of violent behaviour by her clients, but she just dusts herself down and gets on with it.

My parents have given all us kids a strong sense of work ethics - which I'm grateful for.

My Dad is a retired custodian for the school board in my hometown area. He worked at my public school since I started in '87, and then moved on to the high school when I was away in college. Now that he is retired, he works part-time at Walmart... he would go stir-crazy not doing anything, and the little bit of extra income helps for all his golfing excursions, lol.

My Mum is a deadbeat who is too lazy to do anything, and collects welfare. She's the scariest, strongest woman I know, and could show-up many men, but she'd rather smoke pot all day, and complain about people who have more than her. My two sisters have adopted that way of life, as well, sadly... I supported them financially for years before I wised up.

My dad has and does work in upper management of multiple large food production companies (General Mills, Unilever and now Parmalat).

My mom was a stay at home mother until my brother and I were teenagers, and now cleans houses. They are divorcing so she works full time elsewhere.

FH's mother was a stay at home person (sorry, refuse to call her a mother) and has been since her kids were born and still is despite the fact that they've all but one moved out, and the one remaining is in college all day. His father is a retired drama teacher.

My dad was forced into early retirement by inter-company politics and the bad economy, but he used to be the administrator for the OB-GYN department at a major hospital. My mom is a grants administrator/business manager for an international research center. She handles about 30 million in grants.

Essentially both of my parents are managerial accountants, and that's what FI wants to be too, I''m surrounded. In fact FI has his first day as 1st assistant manager today, I'm so proud of him.

My mom is a teacher. She worked for 12 years as a teacher for deaf children, and then when we moved when I was a kid she got a job working in a private school teaching 2nd grade. She tried getting a job in deaf ed. but the public schools were on a hiring freeze. She has since been at that school for 15 years. She now teaches social studies in the middle school, and it is very much her passion. My soon-to-be stepfather is an eye doctor, but he actually specializes as a developmental optometrist, working with children in diagnosing and treating vision problems that interfere with reading and learning.

My father used to be a Hillel director at university campuses, but now works at a different community organization. He may soon have a new wonderful opportunity, but we'll see. My father's partner is a retired librarian.

My dad is the supervisor of our area's branch of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).  He used to be a federal mine inspector before moving into the supervisory role about 15 years ago.

My mom is a currently a postmaster, but has went back and forth between that and working in marketing at our region's district USPS office.

My father is a national accounts manager for a large chemical company.  My mom and brother and I joke with him about how his job description is basically "selling plastic" but obviously there's a whole lot more to it than that!

My mother was a stay at home mom until I was around 13/14, then she opened up an in-home piano studio.  She now has around 20 students and is involved with the state music teacher association.
