Bump is written when a poster or other readers want to move a post to the top.  This is a way to get more people to notice it.

We do it on the boards too.

It basically just “bumps” the thread or ad to the top of the list so more people can see it/comment on it.

When you respond to a listing, it shoots to the top of the page. So if it hasn’t been seen in awhile, responding to it will “bump” it to the top of the page where others can see it.
