I’m 21 and have never heard that term before. I’d guess it’s along the line of straight edge?

@KoiKove:  In some circles, doesn’t “clean” mean “hasn’t been in trouble with the law”? (As in “has a clean record”).

ETA: I’ve also heard “clean” can mean “not on drugs” (especially “not on drugs any more”).

I would think that it means that she’s not into drugs or alcohol, but I don’t actually know for sure.

@KoiKove:  lol I’m pretty sure he meant “Not slutty” He was mad about her being a stripper in the past when he didn’t know about it. It’s like saying “She’s a good girl.”

I would assume it means that she’s generally your stereotypical “good wholesome” person. No drugs/drinking problems, no trouble with the law, works and does her bit for society.

When I met Mr TTR, he once upon a time in the months afterwards said something similar about me and our hooking up initially

    I was a “clean girl”

To him it meant I took care of myself… and in particular my sexual health.

I was knowledgeable about STDs etc, and I was a girl who didn’t compromise on this front

I was no virgin, but I was selective.  And I had standards.  And I had RULES that went along with sex.

I laid out the RULES early on.  If he was on-side great.  If he wasn’t that was ok too.  His choice.  BUT it meant I wasn’t about to change MY RULES & STANDARDS for him (or any other partner)

Fortunately he wasn’t a “skanky” guy and had standards too… so he appreciated my stance.

Condoms all the way… no compromises.

And we weren’t ditching the condoms or doing anything other than bread & butter sex until we were both checked out and given a clean bill of sexual health

This of course limited some of our fun & games, but we were both ok with that in the interim.

@KoiKove:  I would say not on drugs, not an alcoholic and not slutty. Not necessarily a goodie two-shoes though.

@jadlnc:  probably it’s relative, in that in some cultures his clean GF would be pretty out there, but in his world, she’s conservative. Maybe she’s got only two kids from one baby-daddy, that’s clean.
