So in my immediate family, it is myself, my sister and my mother and we will be togehter all day getting ready and having girl time and whatnot with the other girls before the wedding. What does the father of the bride typically do?? Just sit at home?
We are in a bit of a unique situation because my father is legally blind so he does not drive (he can see some but can’t use a vehicle) and my fiance’s family does not speak English and will be staying in a hotel anyhow so they don’t have a house to go to. I want the day to feel special for him too and not just a waiting game in an empty house.
What do the father of the brides typically do all day before the wedding?? My wedding isn’t until January but I am a planner and I am thinking already of how the day will go vs. what needs to be done for the day!

My father, along with FH’s father, my brother, groomsmen and any other males that will be closely involved with the wedding will be setting up the ceremony location in the morning, and then using FFIL’s hotel room to get ready in.
I plan to order both the guys & girls a subway tray of sandwiches to munch on, maybe a “beer cake” for the guys.

Do you have other family coming? Maybe siblings of your Dad, that he can hang out? I’m assuming my dad will hang out with his brothers and other family members who have travelled for the wedding, while I am getting ready.

The best way to make it special for him is to ask him what HE wants to do, not be all caught up in what others want to do. Maybe he wants to kick back and relax in a hotel room as well or enjoy a champagne brunch with your mother. Maybe he wants a more active role in helping you get ready.

My husband (FOB) spent the day in the house with all the guys and the FOG. They ate and had a few drinks, and the photographer came to get pictures of them outside and while they were getting ready, then headed over to the house where all of us were getting done for the same. The wedding was at 5:30, but leading up to it is pretty busy. We also all went to the venue early in the morning to set it all up…ceremony was onsite and outside first, so we had both areas to do. Wedding day is a busy one!
Where will the groom and GM be getting ready?
