For us we just went along with the style of the groomsmen. They all wore tuxes, but the fathers wore a different vest/tie combo.
ah, that's a good idea. I still need to talk to FI about what he wants. I think he wants a different tie than the GM but i'm pretty sure he wants tuxes. So I guess i'd be a good idea to keep them all the same?
Oh, am I supposed to pick out a certain one for him to rent/wear? Or should I just tell him the style & let him find one? This is the one thing that I've been lost on so far :-P
That's exactly what we did. He ended up wearing an ivory tie to differ from the rest of the groomsmen :)

My Dad lives across the country & I was talking to him on the phone recently. I asked him if I'd see him for the wedding & he said "Tell me what to wear & I'll plan!"
I replied saying that I would be happy if he wore jeans & a shirt cause he'd be there :-P (I saw him for the first time in 13 years last year)
So I'm totally not sure what he's supposed to wear. Should he wear a tux? Or a nice suit? Or what?
