Dear bees. I very very much enjoy all the posts and the bee community. But here and there I find myself struggling to understand some things. See, English is my second language and while I manage to understand most things, I struggle at times. 🙁 Especially with abbreviations.
I’ve been wondering for weeks now what OP means. I imagine the P goes for poster but really have no clue. And I guess once I know it will be like ohh duh! Anyway, I managed to guess what SO means. And then the obvious FI and DH were easier. But can’t figure out the SO thing. So if you can help me it would be great. And if you know any other frecuent abbreviation here please feel free to share. I’ll appreciate it. 🙂 Thanks in advance

OP means original poster
SO means significant other

@Sporty-Bee: No problem, OP stands for Original Poster (you were part way there!). It’s the person who started the posting thread in the first place (for this thread you are the original poster because you started it). SO stands for Significant Other ands is used in consideration of the fact that a couple does not necessarily mean a man and woman.
If you look around there is a post somethere that is a glossary of most of the terms and abbreviations.

@Sporty-Bee: The welcome at the top of the boards has a link to the list of abbreviations! (I just found it)

@julies1949 I had a good laugh reading them! Some I knew but good Lord most of them I could not even guess what they meant! And some are really funny too!

@Sporty-Bee: I had to look them up too lol…I was on here always talking about BF and most bees don’t so I adopted SO haha!! You are not alone!

@renwoman: I normally use SO because, like a lot of bees, I find the word “boyfriend” to be very juvenile-sounding. It just doesn’t quite convey the seriousness of our relationship in my opinion.
