I think it will vary on the location and experience of photographer. In KC, we found a photographer we really liked and our package is $1950, which includes:
Engagement Shoot
2 shooters on day-of, unlimited time and locations
DVD or CD-Rom of all edited images in high-resolution
"Premiere Party..." hehe, he invites us to come to his studio and preview our wedding images with a few friends - drinks, snacks provided :)
Ours is $3000. It includes 2 shooters, unlimited time/pictures, a DVD of all digital negatives with copyright release, an online gallery, a 10x10 20pg. coffee table album and an engagement shoot.

For $2k, we're getting one photographer, all day, engagement shoot, CD of all the photos, rights to the photos, and a 4x6 of each photo. It seems like a lot to me, but I did a lot of comparing with other photographers in the area and with what I got, it would have been about $3k with any other photographer.

My photography was about $4150 and included an engagement session, all day wedding photography with 2 photographers, online galleries, a DVD of all high res wedding images, an 11x14 magazine style album and 2 mini parent albums (copies of our albums but smaller). We also get to do a photo session with them once a year for our lifetime!
We are paying $1600 and this includes travel time (about 1 1/2 hours), 2 photographers, unlimited pictures for 8 hours, a 10x10 wedding album, CD with all pictures so we can use to order prints from anywhere, editing, and an online gallery for guests to order from.
We're on a tight budget and the number scared us at first but I know we're getting a good deal!

That was MUCH cheaper than anyone else in our area (usually $2,000-$4,000), but we wanted a more casual style of picture because of the multiple wedding thing, and this couple is just in the process of moving their business from one city to another, so they were looking to build up their client base.
Well for ours (Spokane, Wa) we're getting one of the most basic packages for $1300 with the chance to barter halibut for partial payment. It comes with:
We're thinking about adding in at least one more hour of pictures and that would only be $150. Also, I think we might get a slight discount for it being off-season. We're having a friend take our engagement photos and we're printing off all of our own photos. I'm probably going to just make copies of the cd for family that wants it and then they can decide what they want to do after that.
What's nice with our photographer is that if we decide to go to another location and take pictures then we won't be charged for moving. We can actually go to as many places as we want as long as we have the time.
I found a married couple in Ontario, Ca. That will do my wedding for $2500. It includes:
2 photographers
engagement session (unlimited photos)
all day coverage (unlimited amount of photos)
Light editing (color balance, blemishes, etc)
a 12x12 digtal album (I forget exactly how many pictures are included, but it's a good amount)
I forget what size but a blow up of an engagement photo (to be displayed at the wedding) & another of the wedding itself
rights to all the pictures that were taken from both the wedding and the engagment shoot!!
I thought this was an amazing deal considering you don't get half as much with other photographers for the same price in LA!!!

We'll probably add another 3-4 hours of coverage @ $300/hour, so we're expecting the total to be around $5,000.
We are getting, for $2300:
1 photographer
1 hour engagement shoot, 50 High Res. specially edited (not just belmish etc, but with actions and processing etc) images on a CD with all rights to reproduce
2 hour session the day before (or whenever the rehearsal is)
8 hours on the day of (ours will probably be more as we're foregoing the rehearsal session)
800-1000 High Res. Specially edited images on a CD with all rights to reproduce
1 hour Trash the Dress/Rock the Dress session after the wedding
2 Leatherbound 12x12 (i think) photo books
Also Included: My photographer's traveling expenses (flight/hotel/meals) from Florida to TN.

- 3 copies of fully edited DVD
- Wedding highlights music video
- Photo slideshow
- One framed 16x20” collage poster (sign board)
- One twenty-page 9x12” coffee table album
- Two twelve-page 9x12" coffeetable parents albums
Plus they do all this other cool stuff for us like giving us our own website with the music video on it, etc.
We're paying 2050+ tax for 6 hours wedding day, 1 photographer, engagement shoot, editing of all photos (not "special" editing like editing out zits, but all color/special effect types stuff is included), and dvds of high res images for everything.
It really depends on the skill/experience of your photog I think. We could've gotten "more" for less money but our budget was 2k and I wanted the absolute best photos I could get for that money, not the most photos. My goal was to find a photog "on their way up"... and I think my photographer has skills above her price level.

hey what does your wedding package for photography include. just trying to get comparisons to see.
ours is for 900 and it includes:
6 hours/ up to 2 locations. 2 photographers
a cd of all our edited pictures- (around 500).. that doesnt seem like a lot though. wish there was more....
a dvd montage wit our pictures to music.
a couple of 8 by 10s, 5 by 8's ( i forget how many, i think around 5 each)
