@QueenOfSerendip:  I am in serious need of a vacation myself.  We have last minute wedding planning/shopping.  On the DIY front, I have to make 4 pocket squares for my groom and his GMs, and decorate the cardbox.

My mom is up today watching little boy since we have no daycare today.  She will be here until tomorrow. So do a little shopping. I do have a hair apt in the afternoon on sat to get my hair colored not sure if going to do or not.

Other than that nothing…

I’ve got a plumber friend coming over to help us fix our leaking shower – we have to totally rip out the bottom of it along with the lower tiles. He’s also going to help us rip out our bathtub and install a new one. Yeah, we bought a house with a separate leaking shower AND bathtub. Not fun!! If I had to hire a company it would probably cost a couple grand, but he says he can do it with materials, new tub, etc all for under $1000. That’s a relief!

Then husband, in-laws, and I will watch the Aggie game together. I also need to fit in working on my Halloween costume at some point!

FI’s parents are coming into town to go to the game. Things have been a little strained between us the past 2 weeks or so, so I’m not really looking forward to it. First time ever in my life I wish it had stayed Thursday.

@QueenOfSerendip:  FUN!! Wish I was near a beach.

I am doing nothing but realxing tonight after work! Then tomorrow morning I am getting my hair highlighted. In the afternoon I am going to test drive and put a down payment of the brand new Mazda 3 that FI and I bought this week. He is out of town but his parents are coming with and we are going to dinner afterwards.

Then on Sunday my SIL and my 4 month old niece will be in town so I am having lunch with them! Can’t wait to see the little doll. Afterwards we are going to the bridal shop to order SIL’s bridesmaid gown and she is going to see my gown (the sample anyway) in person for the first time too.

Busy busy weekend. Enjoy your vacay!!

@sillysillybee:  ohmygod I’m so jealous that you get to buy a new car. What I’d give to buy a new car… especially the Mazda 3. Everytime I drive my car, I’m worried about the brakes not working. 🙁

Nothing. Ugh. Sometimes I’m happy to have nothing going on but I’m bored already and the weekend hasn’t even started, lol.

@mrspinesol:  That’s an awful thing to have to worry about! Can you not get the brakes fixed? We are so excited about this car…it’s the GT version so it literally has every possible feature for a Mazda 3. Advanced keyless entry, nav system, bluetooth, Sirius, 10 speaker Bose sound system, heated leather seats, sunroof…you name it and this car has got it. Apparently there are three different LCD display screens…FI really wanted this GT version, even though we don’t really NEED all these extras. I told him I will need lessons just on how to use all the features.

@sillysillybee:  Apparently there’s nothing wrong with the brakes themselves. I just had all of the pads/shoes replaced a few months ago. However, the ABS is completely broken. So… that’s not good, but it’s not terrible. My car will still brake, I just have to be careful. I still worry, though. and yeah, I’d love to have all of those features on a car. I was really considering the Mazda 6 because it’s beautiful and I love it, and I’d probably get it if I had the money. But… college. 🙁

I’m going to a bachelorette party on Saturday.
I got a text yesterday that they “decided against doing bottle service,” and my eyes almost popped out of my head – WTF I don’t have the money for THAT!!!
You need to TELL ME these freaking things!!

I’m also test driving a Subaru Impreza sedan/hatchback and a Honda CR-V this weekend. Hopefully I can buy a car next week, dammit; it’s almost been a month with no car (though I get to drive FI’s pickup truck like a badass)

On Sunday we’re going to keep working on the upstairs “apartment” that we’re moving into in February when our lease is up… in FMIL’s house. Sigh. But at least I get to decorate however I want!
We’re ripping down walls – it’s a great stress reliver haha!
It’s like ripping up junk mail times ten, plus power tools.
