I think just choose what you want. They are not so different to make a difference against the decor. I like the dress though
I voted Black, but only because it'll be easier for them to possibly re-wear of the two. I agree with @lefeymw they really aren't going to give you a different vibe or anything.
Why not let your MOH wear black, and your BMs the dark gray? I love the gray, by the way.
I think it will look sharp.
I'm biased because I plan on doing either the same charcoal grey color or silver. I at first wanted black, but changed my mind after seeing pictures of other wedding parties and imput from my mom. I really like the contrasting colors between the groomsmen (in black tuxes) and the bridesmaids.
What if you have your bridesmaids in the black and the junior bridesmaids in teh charcoal? Or vise versa.
Either way, like PP said, either one will look great!
I voted black but after I thought about it a minute I think grey will be more modern/ interesting than black. You really can't go wrong!
Oh no... it's pretty much a tie. 10 for Grey and 9 for black... Anyone else also have an opinion?
I did gray, and loved it! But, I don't think it will make that big of a difference. Could you do your MOH in black and the others in gray?
Mmm... really starting o think that putting my MOH in black and the others in grey is a good idea. Thanks Bees!!
I had my bridesmaids wear black, and MOH and junior bridesmaids wear silver. (MOH and JBs were my sister and his sisters.) It looked really nice and helped the sisters 'stand out'. Maybe have your MOH wear black, and the others wear grey?
I really like the grey because in that material, grey looks like silver or pewter which is so interesting. I also like grey on younger girls. Black might be too harsh for your pre-teens.
BTW - I also have a similar issue where my MOH wants to wear black - an off the shoulder that looks amazing on her. I am putting my younger bridesmaid (13yrs) in another style in deep fushia. So mixing can be great.
Grey is REALLY in this year! As next year too. I say go w/grey it looks good and you can have the girls wear colored shoes or silver.
I would do a mixture. I love the look of different colors together...fantastic! :-)
Cool beans. I think you should pick out your dress before you decide - picking BM dresses that complement/match you might significantly impact your decisions!
@Beluga: Good call. And ya we are going to pick them out a few months after I get mine. I'm just a crazy planner and get everything planned out as much as I can.
@NotYourTypicalBride: Exactly what I was going to suggest!
Personally, I'd rather the gray, because who doesn't already own a LBD? If I were in a wedding, I wouldn't necessary want another LBD to add to my collection - but a LGD might get worn again, because I don't already own a gray dress!
Maybe have MOH and JB in black and other 2 girls in grey... you get both and then the MOH stands out with her different color and the JB will be completely different than BM

I am undecided what dress colour I want for my bridesmaid: Black or Dark Grey
What would you choose?
My MOH says black, but the others say dark grey. I also have 2 junior bridesmaids (ages 12 and 10).
The dress I have chosen is by Alfred Angelo 7171(although the younger girls are going to wear a different style of dress).
(this is the link in black: http://www.alfredangelobridal.ca/Collections/ProductDisplay.aspx?productID=da4cb4d9-eb71-4f1c-8c02-c1d7fc936458&categoryID=053f22f3-72d9-4a6d-af34-392c45fe8c96&pg=0&colorId1= )
The grey colour looks like this:
NOTE: My decor consists of a white backdrop w/ blue spot lights behind and blue spot lights against the walls around the hall. The head table will have white draping with white spot lights inside and black draping on the top. My centerpiece are glass vases with white flowers inside.
