Just curious. FI and I are getting married by JOP on our wedding date. Afterwards, we plan to go to a really nice dinner and celebrate with our close family and friends. I've been thinking about what sort of dress I would wear. Of course it wouldn't be a long wedding dress. Perhaps a vintage short dress. I was thinking of possibly ordering from dollycouture.com, but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to spend that much money for a courthouse wedding. So, my inspiration is:

So, out of curiousity and to make it fun, what dress would you wear at your courthouse wedding?!
I have a crush on this dress and would use it if we either had a garden wedding or a JOP wedding.

Definitely daytime wear! I would look for something with some type of sleeves. I'd feel funny wearing a strapless dress in a courthouse, especially with everyone around me in business suits. If I had to wear strapless I'd wear a bolero or jacket that I could take off after we leave the courthouse. Something like these.

I would probably wear something similar to what I wore for our simple wedding; JCrew and I plan to wear it again with boots and a cardigan for our anniversary photo session. Court house is usually simple and clean but hell if you want to jazz it up go for it! :)
I'm wearing this for our upcoming courthouse wedding:
I didn't want white/ivory and I don't do strapless so this style and in grey was my first choice. It's a bridesmaids dress from BHLDN, but it's also available in ivory from their website. I definitely wanted something reasonably priced and that I could wear again afterward. I love the dresses from Dolly Couture though! If I wanted a more 'weddingy' dress and could afford it, I'd get one of theirs in a heartbeat!
@CassandraC: I like that! =)
I was thinking about getting a blush pink dress as well. I'm obsessed with them for some reason. I could also go with a emerald green dress since it fits my red hair along with FI's. We could easily match. Hmm.. now I'm getting ideas!
im not a sex in the city fan but i liked what Carrie wore to her courthouse wedding and if i had to do it again i would keep with something similar, tea length but maybe not the jacket as i know i would be nervous & sweat
I suggest wearing the dress you will want to see on your Fireplace Mantle for the next 60 years.... and yes, I am presuming you will be married for at least 60 years:)
ALWAYS wear the dress which will look best on you in your wedding photos,, IMO. The wedding day flies by, however the photo is Foorrrrrrreeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvveeeeeerrrrrrrrrr;)
So, it really doesn't matter if you get married at the courthouse or in a Grand Cathedral... The question to ask is: Will this dress that I am wearing in the wedding photo with my husband and I standing under the tree look as good in 2060, as it did in 2012?
Have fun at your wedding:)

One of these two. Could even see wearing these to a not courthouse wedding, though I know they're not most people's bag.

I would wear this! I'm so tempted to buy it for the honeymoon
Have you looked at Unique Vintage for dresses? They have some really pretty ones that aren't that expensive.
This is really cute!

@Sulli301: Thank you! =) I love it.
@BoiledPNut: That is really pretty. I'm loving this dress too. Someone wrote in the review that it's not as yellow in the picture, but that'd be fine by me.

@MissPumpkinPie: I love that!! Seriously, I love their dresses. They are all so cute!
@BoiledPNut: It's only $98. I'd buy crinoline for underneath. That'd be super fun too.
@delirium.megans: That dress is beautiful! Not liking those brown shoes with it though.
This one is pretty, with a little flirty/fun going on while still being classy:

I could see it with heels, a teeny veil headband, and a simple, sweet bouquet. It's also only $130 which makes it great for a practical courthouse ceremony.
We had a very small courthouse wedding with 9 guests. I wore an ankle length lined linen dress with an empire waist. It was perfect for our very casual wedding and reception.

@moonadea: That is adorable!
@mrscheetos: Oooh, sultry! I love it.
@Irishowl1976: Beautiful!
