'Fess up! All relationships aren't perfect, and there must be one thing about your fiance that drives you up the wall. So I will start:

My dear FI is germophobic. He washes his hands a million times a day and looks like a deer in headlights if someone coughs. The first thing he says when we get in the door - "remember to wash your hands!".

I can appreciate the importance of handwashing (I am a nurse), but he takes it to a whole new level!

Haha, that cracks me up that you're a nurse and are stunned at his crazy hand-washing. =)  He must be totally extreme!!

One thing about my FI...oh gosh, sometimes, his voice.  I am serious.  It has grown on me, but when I first spoke to him on the phone (we met online) I was floored; his voice did NOT match his face.  It's just kind of ... hard to describe, but he sounds like he's mocking you or something when you're not used to it.

1 - He bites his nails. It. Drives. Me. Nuts.

2 - Just thinking about this one because I was just cooking dinner with him: when he cooks, he carries around the kitchen towel with him. I usually leave it hanging over the oven door handle, or in a really convenient spot. Normally it's fine that he does it differently, but when I'm cooking with him and I need the towel and he's CARRYING IT AROUND I want to shoot him just a little bit. lol

When he answers question with:  "that's fine".  Usually it's me saying: "Do you care if I/we do, x, y or z"   Him:  "That's fine".  It's an incomplete answer.... and I always have to ask him what he means.  He does this ALL the time.  Drives me up the wall.  :)

I can't stand the noise!!! Every time he does it it makes me wince and squirm. I think it drives him crazy that it annoys me so much. I'm hoping that works to my advantage, haha.

haha hmmm I think the #1 thing is that he's kind of a label whore. I could seriously care less who or what I'm wearing/buying as long as everything looks nice and is functional. I'm not out to impress anyone. He is all about the name. He has to buy his clothes at banana republic and have a michael kors watch. He would sooner die than wear something I bought for him at target. I just think its shows a bit of low confidence, like he needs to impress people or something? But I'm over a lot of this since he instituted a budget and no longer spends full paychecks shopping. :)

I also don't love that he is a bit apathetic socially. I am a total bleeding heart liberal and he just doesn't always *get* it. He is a corporate accountant so he's much more plugged into big money than I am. It drives me nuts when he makes a comment like "oh why can't they just get a job" etc. To his credit though, he does always give me a chance to make my argument, even if he disagrees. haha.

Oh also! The way he eats. No matter what it is, somehow his fingers end up in his mouth up to the knuckle. Grosses me out like WOAH. haha

I swear I do love him a lot though! Even if I can name three things right away that drive me batty!

Mine is also a nail biter.  The thing that really gets me though isn't really his fault (I blame his parents for not emphasizing how important appearance can be) is that he doesn't understand etiquette, like when I took him to a nice steakhouse he practically inhaled his filet mignon without even chewing it! Another thing is that his version of cleaning is just picking things up, not wiping them down etc.  Oh well!

    Video game noises

The fact that he goes to bed SUPER early

He's a hornball in the morning, I am at night

He doesn't always put food down the disposal while we're cooking, and it will end up staying like that for days if I don't touch it.

All that being said, he's still freaking fantastic. :p

Ooooh crebre80, my fiance always empties his electric razor in the sink and doesn't rinse the hair down the drain!! It's so gross to wake up to a sinkful of facial hair ;)

I know I do some things that drive him mad too, so I figure it all equals out in the end, and we are HAPPY :)

He sometimes says "supposably". I didn't want to because I don't to nag, but I've finally started correcting him.

@MissHelen - My FI used to say that too! I corrected him enough that he finally stopped - so there is hope for you! Now, of course, he says "nucular". It drives me nuts and I correct him every time, and then make fun of him because he totally used to make fun of George Bush for saying that, haha.

ugh!  I HATE it when we're trying to make any decision, about which HE is pushing for a decision to be made, but he turns down all my suggestions and then pushes more for a decision without making any suggestions!!!  Ugh!  If he wants a decision he needs to do more than just turn down suggestions!!

Good thing he's so lovable otherwise...

He won't put things back where they belong, even if it's just as easy as where he did put it. Like he'll take the scissors out of the knife block, cut something open, then put the scissors down on the bench, RIGHT NEXT TO the knife block. WTF? He'll leave something right where he dropped it when he came home. If I don't move it, odds are it will still be there four days later. He has a bad habit of not showing me he's listening, to the point where he will WALK AWAY while I'm talking to him. He still hears everything I say but I *hate* that he doesn't actually show it! Meanwhile I'm good at appearing to be listening but sometimes it's just in one ear & out the other! Luckily he is so awesome in so many other ways!!! (Like in our pre-marital counselling I said "agree" to "sometimes my partner does things that annoy me", but he said "uncertain"!!! Oh, bless his cotton socks.)

    2. He also uses baby power to keep from "chafing", so there is a film of it all over his bathroom

I've been living with my FI just over a year. #1 on my list is his freaking video games! I normally wouldn't mind them but he puts EVERYTHING off when he's playing W.O.W. He'll let his dishes pile up, miss walking the dog...and so on. Then there's this noise he makes after he tells me a story. It sounds like he's scoffing at me but he's not.  And don't get me started on when he leaves everything where he drops it, even if he knows where it should go. There are a few other things, but I just love him so much!

Only one thing.  His fridge!  He's such a guy.  He just buys stuff when he needs it and has one huge kitchen and a giant fridge.  He just kinda ignores it.  Whenever I'm over there, I begin to toss stuff away (this expired, that's soon to expire, etc).  He just lets me do it.  He knows as soon as I'm there full time that the fridge and its contents is going to be re-done!

Like Valhalla, my guy is a germaphobe and a health freak.  To the point of totally extreme.   It used to drive me crazy but I decided to look at these as areas where I could stand to improve and that helped me not tell him that he was insane.

@50- my guy is the same way. He would go to bed at like 830 or 9 every night if it weren't for me, and I can only keep him up until 10, maybe 11. Even on weekends it is a serious push to keep him up until 11 or 12. I am a total night owl and I hate going to bed (ever) before midnight, more like 1 or 2 on weekends. Luckily he has gotten a bit better about just going to bed when he wants to. I don't mind not going to bed together but he doesn't like it. I'd prefer that to him snoring on the couch or me laying awake for hours in bed. :)

Mine would be his devotion to sports.  Seriously, baseball, basketball (college & pro), football (college & pro) AND hockey!  I dont get a break only in like April but barely.  He is so into it and gets pretty upset if his team doesnt win.  I am a sports fan too but not nearly as bad.

This is making me laugh :)  Corgi, I got such a funny visual from you describing the way your man eats.  Made me literally LOL, had to explain to FH.

My dear darling Mr. Octo has you nailbiters beat...he picks at his nails.  Kind of like perpetually trying to pull off a hangnail, and it absolutely drives me bonkers.  He also can take a very long time to tell a story, which can get exasperating but is also totally endearing at the same time.  Aren't they all just such goofballs??

    Two things-

When he unloads the dishwasher, he can't ever seem to put the tupperware in that specific cupboard, instead they are stacked all over the other various cupboards.  Silly, but I'm mostly over it.

He gets out of the shower and drips all over the living room tile, next thing I know I walk past and slide into a wall.

@little octopus- glad you liked that. it is seriously ridiculous. sometimes i just stare at him in awe like.... how the hell can you need to lick you (second) knuckles when we're eating a sandwich? its a sandwich for godsake! lol. To appease me he now washes his hands as soon as he's done eating (i get grossed out by sticky fingers). He told me the other day that someone at work mentioned his er... unique... eating habits and he told them i hated it too and *make* him wash his hands when he's done eating! Thanks hun, now your coworkers think I'm a total dictator. lol.

@naangel55- my guy is the same way. he watches it all (including hockey) as well. I actually kind of like it most of the year though. I need a bit of "alone time" to just watch the tv he hates and chill on my computer. I can look at the espn guide and know months in advance when I have a night free! The only time that really stinks is pro football season. he does fantasy so every. single. game. is important. :)

The Hubs likes to leave a pile of laundry on the floor on his side of the bed.  I never know if these clothes are clean or dirty and/or if they should be in the dresser or laundry hamper.  I've asked him about it, but for whatever reason, the piles always return.

OH MY GOODNESS. I would die. I HATE snoring. I'm so glad he doesn't snore. I told him when we first met that if he snored I would smother him with a pillow in his sleep.

I have not had to use that pillow yet. lol
