I have really sensitive skin so I use dermalogica products which I get from my beauty therapist. As I’m getting older i also use their eye creams.

I used a whole bunch of all those products which only made my skin over stripped which caused it to break out and be overly oily. I started using natural home remedies only and since I’ve had  nothing but positive results and all issues gone.

Honestly it’s really trial and error.  I would try to look for something mild and go with that.  If you have a lot of rough skin, you could exfoliate 1-2 times per week with a cheap exfoliating scrub.  St. Ives makes nice ones for the price.

Basically all cleansers contain the same surfactants, it’s just a matter of finding out what other ingredients could make you react.  Something mild is always your best bet for starters!

You can also try reading up on things at Paula’s Choice. They have their own products but also do really good reviews on everything skin related. I think you can also put in your skin type and search for products that would work best for you.

My current skincare is atrocious, but I’m planning to switch things out one by one.. What I’m really interested in is using a good chemical exfoliant to clear up my skin and hydrate it. I’ve stopped all mechanical exfoliation and the next thing I’m going to phase out is essential oils.

I only use cleansers and moisturizers that they sell at my dermatologist’s office. I’ve tried it all.

I have had horrible acne my entire life and continued to suffer from adult acne until about 2 months ago. I found an awesome product that I would love to share but dont want to “promote” and get in trouble on here 🙁  This stuff has seriously changed my life. I asked my dermatologist about it and he said that it was just as good , if not better , than what he was offering clients. I no longer have to use perscription face gel or antibiotics and for the first time in my life dont have to wear face makeup!!!!! feels great!
