I’ve only been to two weddings as an adult and I don’t think I’ve made any faux pas…

I wore a dress that was a tan color (think: taupe mixed with cream). At the time I didn’t think twice about it because it wasn’t ivory or white, but looking back it was probably too close for comfort. Oh well, I’m willing to bet that not a single person thought I was the bride lol

The first time I was invited to a wedding on my own (not with family), I was, like, a sophomore in high school. So I was probably only 15 or 16. And I think I RSVPed way late because at that age, I just didn’t know how serious all of that stuff was!

I’ve been to at least 20 weddings since then and can’t think of any super serious slip ups, aside from things like accidentally taking a flash photo during a ceremony. I think my husband’s family may have brought me to a wedding once that I wasn’t technically invited to (even though my husband and I were engaged at the time). I try not to feel responsible for that one, though!

The very first wedding that I was invited to as an adult, I gave myself a +1 and didn’t bring anything. I had no idea that I wasn’t supposed to add my boyfriend (now DH) or that I was supposed to bring anything at all (I was also a broke ass student).

I had one friend who got married straight out of university, it was the first friend’s wedding I’d ever been to. I started dating someone and was SO EXCITED at the idea of finally having a boyfriend that I asked if I could bring him. And then they eventually said yes, but we broke up before the wedding! I feel like suuuuuch a rude idiot now when I think about it, but back then I was young and didn’t know any better!
