I guess my biggest fear is people not having a good time. 85% of our guest are coming in from out of town and we really want everyone to have a good time. My FI is big o the food so he needs the food to be good. Of course, I want everything to be perfect so I am nervous about all of my DIY items. I just hope we have enough time to set up everything before the wedding.
A while ago I saw a youtube video of a bride who's period leaked through her wedding dress. This is now my new favorite fear..
But that's more or less it. Aside from maybe that everyone will leave at 9pm. Or that all of our gifts get stolen (because I just read an article about that - not because gifts are the most important thing, but seriously, who could tell me it wouldn't suck royally to discover that happened?).
I'm a worrier by nature. I have a list a mile long but what ranks right up there at the top is that I have no plan B if it rains the day of my outdoor wedding! I have yet to find a fiesable alternative. I get all jittery and panicky just thinking about it!
A good chunk of mine came true... stuff I never thought would go wrong.
-My hair/makeup person cancelled on me the morning of
-My flowers died
-Groom's family was 40 minutes to the ceremony
-My girls couldn't figure out how to fluff my crinoline (they were all out of town and didn't learn. I didn't think it would be that hard.)
-The caterer screwed up the numbers of the entrees
-The coordinator was no. help. at. all.
-The middle tier of my cake crashed in my baker's car
...I could go on...
I'm not really worried about stuff going wrong the day of. I have this irrational fear that someone close to us is going to die before the wedding day gets here.
I'm having a destination wedding so...
That my mother will be intoxicated. Seriously.
That my FI's brother (who invited 4 people and maybe more that I don't know about and none of which are staying at the resort) will show up late. Late as in, I am halfway down the aisle. I actually had that dream. I would die!
My parents' horrible friend making derogatory comments about gay people or people of color within earshot of my gay/trans/friends&family of color. blech :(
@GroovyHippieChick: I have that fear, too! You're not alone.
I fear that my photographer won't be able to come. I fear someone will spill on my dress. Those are the main ones.
-the on-site accomodations are too shabby!
-paying deposit site-unseen
-his friends and family feeling that it is low budget
-my mom pushing for it to be low budget so they feel ok with the small amount they can contribute
I fear that I won't look like I envisioned...you know sometimes you just have a bad hair day or a bad eye-lash day?? Lol that's one. The other would be terrible weather (windy, rainy, gloomy) yuck. Please lord!
My biggest fear is that I'll have a seizure and I won't be able to go to my own wedding. Or maybe a severe migraine.
I have epilepsy and a severe migraine disorder. When I have a seizure, I'm out of commission for a couple hours because I feel sick afterwards. When I have a migraine I'm normally out of commission all day. These are very real possibilties, and they scare the hell out of me.
I have drugs that help with migraines and the nausea/dizziness that come along with them, but they make me so tired I'm out of commission all day anyway.
I just have to think positively! If it happens then...oh well, I guess. I wouldn't cancel my reception, everything would already be paid. I'd just hope people could still have an awesome time without me!
That I have to pee really badly during my wedding ceremony...haha it sounds stupid but I don't want to be slouching or looking pained in my wedding pictures.
