Amaretto with dulce de leche filling. Bottom tier is also being covered in chocolate fondant.
lemon marionberry (since the berries are local) and mexican chocolate.
chocolate kahlua chunk for 2 tiers and wedding white for 2 tiers, both with vanilla whipped icing. Oh, and we will have sheet cakes in back with chocolate kahlua chunk and buttercream icing as well.
For our cupcake tree
Half almond with rasberry filling
Half chocolate with rasberry filling
They will have vanilla frosting with a chocolate leaf on top (we're getting married in the fall). We will also have a round cake on top that is the almond/rasberry combination.
My FI is a chocoholic and I HATE even the smell of it so one layer that will feed about 100 people will be chocolate with chocolate mousse. The other layers also feeding about 100 people will be vanilla with blueberry and whip cream filling.
3 layers: chocolate cake with irish cream filling, coconut, and vanilla pound! My mom is making it (she has a wedding cake business) and she makes such delicious cake, I am really excited!
We got two layers of Hawaiian paradise cake and one layer of chocolate dobash.
Our cake will be 5 tiers with the following alternating flavors: Princess Cake (a moist tradition yellow cake, with a vanilla flavor) and Texas Turtle (Devils food cake with caramel and pecans in the filling)! This the one thing my FI and I are looking forward to eating the most at the reception!!! *drool*
@scissors: We're boring too. We're just doing chocolate and vanilla. I might change the filling to mousse or strawberry or something but honestly I'm not that concerned ;o)
Biggest layer was white cake with strawberry grandmarnier filling, middle layer was chocolate cake with raspberry mousse filling, the third layer (and also the 4th take home layers) were yellow cake with chocolate ganche filling. All had vanilla butter cream frosting. The groom's cake was chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and vanilla buttercream frosting.
We're having one tier of almond cake with apricot filling, and two tiers of chocolate cake with raspberry filling. I've heard there are people who don't like fruit in their cake, but I guess they're just going to have to deal. The frosting on the outside is going to be white chocolate buttercream.
We're having cupcakes, so we'll have red velvet with cream cheese frosting, lemon with lemon cream cheese frosting, chocolate with vanilla buttercream, and then we'll have a small cake (for the top tier) that's cinnamon with buttercream!
Ideally this is what I want:
Carrot cake with vanilla pastry cream
Hazelnut Sponge Cake with chocolate Mousse
Chocolate Cake with Cour La Creme
We are having a traditional Swedish cake that has a marzipan covering and is a sponge cake with cream and jam inside. That was the extremely most basic explanation of it because I have only heard it described in Swedish and those are my guesses of what is in it but I do know that it tastes great and is really cheap!!!
Fruit cake. We'd have gone with chocolate but we're giving away triple chocolate brownies for our favours and thought it might be a bit much.
Vanilla and almond cream cake with dulce de leche filling. It's the most fabulous thing I've ever eaten!!
We had 3 different flavors, one was red velvet with cream cheese filling, white cake with amaretto rasperry filling and white cake with caramel cream filling. The white cake with caramel cream was the best!!! Oh every layer had buttercream frosting too :)
Red velvet with cream cheese filling and vanilla with lemon curd filling (and the whole thing is covered in buttercream frosting).
The cake tasting was hands down the best part of wedding planning! (Free cake, champagne, bread, and beer? Best lunch ever!
)
almond cake with almond filling and chocolate cake with hazelnut filling
We are having Vanilla with some sort of fruit filling as the bottom tier, carrot cake w/ cream cheese filling as the middle, chocolate w/ bavarian cream as the top, and the groom's cake will probably be chocolate w/ chocolate.
We kept it pretty simple, but have heard our baker makes delicious cakes. For the largest tier, I chose chocolate cake with rasberry filling. For the rest, I chose white cake with rasberry filling. Buttercream icing :o)
We're doing a variety of cupcakes. We'll definitely have vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet. I'm also thinking of throwing in mint cookies and cream and maybe coconut.
FUNFETTI!!!!! with rainbow chip filling. It's our FAVORITE. And yes, I know funfetti is actually just white cake. :)
plain chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing
simple and delicious
We're having vanilla and chocolate poundcake with white chocolate chocolate chip mousse filling!!!

I'm still cake tasting at the point. I'm curious what flavor did you gals choose for your cake.
