Hydrangeas will not work- they wilt within hours. The best choices are orchids because they are surprisingly hardy and will pin into your hair and lay nicely. I always sugeest silk because any flower will wilt after the average 6-10 hour wedding day! And artificial flowers look so realistic now- no one will even notice!
Whew--thanks! You just saved me some wilty hydrangeas scraggling from my hair :) I'll try orchids and if I have time this week (ha!) I'll see if I can find some silk ones to pin in my hair just in case.
I suggest using small roses and baby's breath for an accent. They hold up really well throughout the day!

I should have probably planned this a long time ago, but what fresh flowers work best in an updo, i.e. won't wilt after a few hours and won't look too ginormous? Would hydrangea florets work? Roses?
