Hey Girls, I’m new here and thought I would join in on the fun. My reception is in a cozy log cabin type hall on Lake Michigan. We are doing a country (But not hick lol) feel to the reception. My Fiance and I were thinking of doing a “classy BBQ” for our reception dinner with Chicken off the grill and BBQ ribs. We wanted to have a tin bucket in the middle of each table so guests can throw their bones in. But that plan is still up in the air.
Does anyone know of any type of food that we could serve that would be BBQ like and still very classy looking? Or does anyone have any other ideas they think would work? Thanks!

Hi! Welcome to weddingbee, and definitely check out our (small but awesome) West Michigan board! I’m so excited to have another Michigander around from my side of the state ~ whoo!
Have you looked into Gilmore for catering? They actually do a bbq/grill option as one of their catering packages. We were looking at going with them for a while, but ended up at a venue that doesn’t allow outside catering.
If you’re getting married in a cabin on the Lake, I definitely think classy bbq could be a fun way to go!

I would think to stay away from the bones bucket. BBQ steaks are classy and yummy.

How about kabobs of all kinds? Like shrimp, veggies, beef, anything really. You can serve it over or with anything.

I think bbq chicken and ribs sounds a little messy if you’re wearing anything other than jeans. I like the kabobs idea. That also leaves some options for the vegetarians.
