    I want a foundation that will:

    1) Stay put all. day. long.

    2) Won't look cakey

    3) Provides full-coverage (I have blemishes and uneven spots)

    4) Possibly HD/Photo-Finish type

    I wear Neutrogena foundation every day but it does seem to make my skin greasy at the end of the day and I'm willing to pay some bigger bucks to have a nice foundation that I can use for the big day.

    I tried Smashbox's Hi-Def primer, foundation, concealer, and Halo powder and I really love it for day-to-day wear but it doesn't provide as much coverage as I hoped it would. I need to HIDE imperfections! :)

    Any suggestions?

    I will probably go with Make up Forever HD foundation.

    I'm going to try Revelons Color Stay first to see if that works before spendign the money on the other.

    For primer I used Clinique Redness (I prefered this over Make up forever primer or was it Sephora?) anyways, I went with Make up Forever HD foundation and the white powder that sets things- whatever that is called.  It stayed put and I really enjoyed it.  I felt flawless.

    I used Revlon's Photo Ready liquid foundation, and it worked really well for me. I also used Silica powder spheres based on Miss Rainbow's makeup tutorial:

    I got my make-up done at the MAC counter and the girls there know exactly what to do when you ask for bridal make-up.  You don't have to get your make-up done there, but you can ask them for advice and even have them apply it to your face, then take pictures in it and see if it's what you want.

    I just went to Sephora last night and came home with Make Up For Ever HD foundation and loose powder. One of the makeup "experts" put it on my face for me and I was impressed! I kept it on all day until it was time for bed. It looked natural, didn't feel heavy at all, and it didn't budge until I washed it off. That's saying a lot coming from me, because I usually don't wear foundation or powder at all so usually any face makeup feels unnatural and heavy to me.

    The girl at Sephora also told me that she didn't like Smashbox products at all. I had actually gone in with the intention of trying out Smashbox products, but she quickly steered me toward the MUFE stuff instead. They had the HD loose powder in a smaller size for just $17 (in the bins by the checkout), and then the cashier told me I had enough points to get a sample of the HD blush, so I spent much less than I was expecting to! Yay!

    I use L'Oreal True Match, and it works pretty well. If you pair it with a mineral powder, the coverage is virtually flawless and lasts a long time as well.

    MAC products all the way! It is long lasting, has a variety of coverage options, and it looks great in photographs. The products that I use daily are their studio tech foundation, select cover up concealer, and mineralize powder. LOVE IT! Hope that helps!

    I use the mineral powder ID and it's wonderful.  At first I was concerned it would not give full coverage but it's amazing and gives a flawless look.

    I was also in a wedding on the weekend and had airbrushing which was also fantastic.

    Bare Escentuals when I have the time to put it on....every so often I deviate from it for some "new" product, but I always come back to BE. When it comes to full coverage they are your friend. You can seriously layer like crazy to get really good coverage.

    FWIW, I have horrid skin and it really makes it look quite good.

    My makeup artist used Smashbox on me. It stayed all day and looked really great. It even covered my freckles, which kind of sucked since I love them!

    I use revlon colorstay and really love it. It gives amazing coverage when you apply it with a stippling/skunk brush.

    I got a makeup trial at Sephora the other day with Makeup Forever HD and it looked great. I'm no stranger to makeup but I hardly use foundation and found the Makeup Forever had a great range of colors. I think I will use it.

    I'm thinking about using MAC cosmetics because of the coverage and also because of photos. My FSIL used it for her wedding and it came out great plus it did not look cakey.

    @Wannabe-diy-bride:

    ERA classified foundation will give great coverage. You must prep the skin with weekly exfoliation to make sure you do not have dry patches but this is the makeup I use on someone when I need extra coverage.

    Anyone have any ideas for a beach wedding? I normally don't wear make up and I'll be getting hitched on the beach? I was thinking of some tinted moisturizer and bronzer? Any one have any other ideas or suggestions?

    @keturahrussell:

    MAC face and body is a beautiful tinted no makeup look. It does need to be prepped with a water based primer and powdered. it will last about 3- 4 hours. I have used on beach photo shoots and outdoors you can not tell the face has foundation on it.  This is great for a sports illustrated no makeup look.

    I would not use it if you have olly skin or need a full day of coverage. Also only use a small amount or you will look oily. Keep a compact of MAC blot powder on hand. On the right skin type this is the most beautiful foundation.

    I have used this on a few weddings with  brides who wanted very little foundation and had the right type of skin for it. If you have any marks you need to cover this is not the correct foundation. This is more like a slight skin tint.

    Go to a MAC counter and ask for a small sample to try and see how well it holds up on your skin. Even with a small amount make sure you powder since you will be at the beach. Keep the MAC blot compact with you during the day.

    Awesome! Thank you. I don't have oily skin and 3-4 hours of wear will actually be perfect due to the nature of our nuptials. I'll definitely look into this. :)
