What fragrance are you planning to wear on your wedding day? Or, for those already married, what did you wear?
I'm going to wear Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. It's my 'signature scent.' (Big gag at myself for saying 'signature scent,' but I don't know a less creepshow way to say it!) I keep the 50ml in my bag, and have the big ol' decanter in my bathroom. I'm not obsessed, I swear.
Buuuut anyway, it's fantastic, crisp, and not heavy. And smells pretty damned sexy, if I do say so myself. Plus, it's my fiance's favorite. I believe we have a winner there.
Hmm interesting question! I haven't thought much about it, but my "signature scent" is probably Miracle by Lancome. Somehow it mixes well with my body's "chemistry"... I always get compliments on it whenever I wear it.
I'll have to take a sniff at this Tom Ford Neroli Portofino... I'm not too familiar with it. But if it smells that sexy, I HAVE to seek it out, haha!
I used to have a signature scent: Lolita Lempika. No one else wore it and everyone knew me by it. And then I met my boy. And he is allergic to it! Seriously. His nose starts running. So presently I wear Marc Jacob's Daisy. Looking for another scent though.
I will definitely wear my perfume. :)
"Sexy Little Thing" by Victoria's Secret.
It's seriously amazing. I love it. When I worked there I pushed that fragrance like there was no tomorrow and maybe in the the whole year I was there two people didn't like it.
And of course my fiance loooooves it. ;) :)
My FI hates perfume in general, so I will probably wear my usual cherry blossom body spray which he does, thank the gods, like. I wish I could wear 8 by abercrombie though...oh, how I do love 8.
I always roll with Ralph Lauren Romance. Cliche, but I ALWAYS love the way it smells on me. Grown-up, flirty, yet subtle.
Perfume is one of those things I just love to wear. =]. It's so sexy I think when the smell of a woman's nice perfume lingers around.
I hear that Tom Ford is really nice--when my current bottle empties I may have to go to NM and sniff some stuff out! The Neiman Marcus in StL has some great sales occassionally.
My mom is getting me something special :) I don't really have a signature scent. In college I wore Tommy Girl all the time. When I graduated, my Lamb man gave me a bottle of Armani Mania as my first "grown-up" scent. I'm excited to wear something new for the wedding :)
I wore Doce & Gabb
ana Light blue. I LOVE perfume, so I have a ton, and I usually switch back and forth between that, "her" by Narcisco Rodriguez, and Burberry Brit, but Matt tells me everytime I wear it that it reminds him of ME. He even texted me on a business trip once to say he had just smelled someone wear it and he was thinking of me. Went with that, he really appreciated it. Oh and I stopped wearing it for like 2 weeks prior to the wedding so it was ALMOST new again that day
Fiftyfoot - I gotta check that out!
I think I want a new perfume for the wedding!
I usually wear Lolita Lempicka, JPG Le Classique or Miss Dior Cherie, or even an Avon one called Pur Blanca. But, I think I want something really pretty and sweet for the day. It's really just an excuse to buy myself a new bottle!
Awww, I remember when I first discovered Lolita Lempicka...so lovely, btu even though I have it, it can be a bit too much for me and make me sneezy!
I'd wantd to pick up Lemon Sugar by Fresh because I love their scents and I thought something, err, Fresh for the wedding day would be perfect! But the day I was going to pick it up, the Fresh store in Lincoln Park didn't seem to be there (closed??). I was in a time crunch, so I went into the Benefit store and discovered their "Laugh with Me LeeLee" -
Not normally what I would choose, but I like the scent and the bottle/packaging is too adorable! I've been sneaking sprays of it before the wedding day :)
In the summer, I wear Burberry Summer, so that's probably what I'll be wearing in June :o)
In the winter I wear Banana Republic Malachite or Burberry The Beat.
Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I'm one of those people who is allergic to a lot of perfumes (gives me headaches and nausea...fun!), so I was really excited to find Daisy. It's light and fresh. I highly recommend!
I stop wearing perfume because the lotion I use is good enough! I've been using BAth & Body works aromatherapy JASMINE VANILLA for years!! The FI loves it and everyone knows its "MY SMELL"!
Once during the semi-annual sale I even bought a whole box (24 bottles) and it lasted 2 yrs! I saved a $100! I think I've been wearing that scent for 6 yrs! I hope they never discontinue it...I'd be lost!
I have no idea what I'll wear. I haven't even thought about it!!!
I'm pretty scent-ADD. I switch like every.single.day.
BFF once called me a body splash whore while looking in the bathroom closet for something... lol
I wear a lot of Victoria's Secret (very Sexy) and a ton of other scents (not the fruity ones) so who knows... I will be keeping my ears out for something FI likes and I will use the idea of not wearing it for a while prior to the wedding...
I wore what I had which was Pure Poison by Dior. It's my fav :)
I wore Pink Sugar by Aquolina. I got a bunch of perfume samples before the wedding to try and find a new scent, and the day I wore that one, FI didn't say anything about it... after a few hours I asked if he'd noticed and what he thought of it, and he said that he had noticed it and loved it, but it smelled so familiar that he had assumed it was my usual perfume that he didn't normally notice. I figure if it was a close enough fit for him to think it smelled "familiar," it must be the right one!
It's more sweet than floral, a little bit caramel-y.
My sister gave me a bottle from Victoria Secret that kind of smells like coconut - I loved it. However, because I was in a rush to get out the door when I got ready, I totally forgot deoderant and perfume :( While doing pictures I remembered and my sister had to run out to her bag and I used whatever she had. Oh well.
I'll be wearing Flora by Gucci. It was a gift, and I love the way it smells. FI loves it too.
Is it weird that I didn't wear any perfume? Deodorant, I guess, was my fragrance. :) Seriously, though, the bugs would've had a field day with me if I'd had anything highly-scented on. Any other fragrance-less brides out there?
I have issues with perfume because of my body chemistry A LOT of perfumes smell awful on me!
I have a few that I like - I really like the oil perfumes from the body shop specifically vanilla and coconut (for summer) and I wear Dior - poison and Vera Wang - princess!
I will probably wear princess for the wedding as it is soft and romantic!
For me the problem is that my body does not hold scent at all! I pretty much have to use Eau de Parfum for everything, or else I have no smell. Even then it's pretty faint.
I highly recommend Tom Ford's Private Blends. (or is it Private Label? I dunno. Whatev). They're much better than the regular TF stuff. Some of the scents are kind of wacky, because homeboy is a little nuts. One of them he actually puts a little cocaine in, but that might be an urban myth. I've heard both ways.
Another great scent that I recommend is Calyx by Prescriptives. I used to wear it forever ago, and it's a great light, green scent. For some reason I shy away from florals, musks, or anything really sweet smelling. I like green. :)
The girlfriend of the dude that lives next door to us uses the most awful perfume. I have no idea what it is, but you can always tell when she's been around because the entire hallway smells like baby prostitute. Blech.
I am an absolute perfume whore. After much much deliberation, I decided on Guerlain's L'Heure Bleue. I love it's sweet, incensy top notes with that waxy, delicious praline dry down. It also evokes such sweet, slightly melancholy feelings in me.....I know that sounds weird for a wedding perfume but I really love it. Plus it will be my 'something old' as the perfume was first in production in the 1920s!! (Could have been my something blue also I guess, but my hair is blue so I guess that will be it).
For the RD I'm wearing Estee Lauder Private Collection Amber Ylang Ylang. Such a warm, ambery, fuzzy smell. Yum!
I wore Tommy Girl for ages, but I don't wear anything now but scented body lotion due to allergies. Plus FI really doesn't like fragrances, he thinks I smell great on my own :)
I honestly have NO IDEA. Loverboy has no sense of smell ... so it doesn't matter on his end ... but I guess to save everyone else I should consider a perfume ... haha.
My sig. scent is Chanel's Coco - the old one, not the Mademoiselle. I'm sure it's considered old lady perfume now, but not many perfumes smell good on me and FI likes it a lot:-)
I'll try some more and see if I can find one that works for me, but I'll most likely end up with Coco.
I wore Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb too! I love perfume, and this one was a gift from my MIL so I got a smaller bottle to put in my purse!
Tom Ford Black Orchid. I haven't tried the Neroli Portofino, but I bet I would like it, I love love love all of his perfumes!!
I'm a perfume fanatic. Seriously. It's one of my hobbies! If i leave the house without perfume, I have to go back!
Choosing a perfume for the wedding is like, my biggest choice of all!!
I especially love niche and smaller perfumers and vintage scents. Just thinking about perfume is making me so happy!!!
I love Beautiful Sheer-I used to wear it in the summer, but now I pretty much wear it all the time. (used to wear regular Beautiful in the winter bc it's a heavier fragrance). FI loves Beautiful Sheer and I wear the scented lotion bc it lasts much longer-I plan on layering frangrances on my wedding day bc it will last much longer that way-lotion and then a spritz of perfume. However, it is DISCONTINUED! I bought all that our local Belk's had-it is my absolute favorite! Anyone else a Beautiful Sheer fanatic?!
@liztwinz - if you go to the estee lauder website there is a dept you can call to ask about discontinued prods - its called consumer communications or something like that - they might be able to help you track some down.
Yeah, I've been there-it's called their "Gone, but not Forgotten" program-which they sent me one bottle and a letter (which was written and worded very nicely) that said they were happy to be able to fill this order this time, but it was unlikely that they would be able to do it again because the product was discontinued and finding more would be unlikely. :( Thanks for the info though!
I haven't thought too much about the perfume I want to wear. Something light and fresh. I may have to start looking!!!
I'm not allowed to wear perfume to work, so when I get to wear it I like "Sinful" from Anchor Blue or "Pure Seduction" from Victoria's Secret. I also have "Exotic Pleasure" by Este Lauder hanging around.
@georgie_girl- black orchid is great too! all of his stuff layers so well too.
@his barista- your perfumes have some pretty illicit names. :p
edit: and i just made a joke about that in my head, since you can't wear perfume to work-- those really are nsfw perfumes! har har. i'm a dork.
I love Eternity Moment by Calvin Klein. I researched fragrances that smelled like jasmine and this one is amazing.
I never even thought about this before reading this post! But I'm sure I'll be wearing Victoria's Secret Pink, I wear it almost every day and it's my fav.
I didn't wear any! My daughter was a severe asthmatic so I got out of the habit of wearing perfume a LONG time ago and I didn't even think of wearing anything!
