I am a huge gift giver. I LOVE giving people gifts, watching them open gifts – everything about it. I put so much time and thought into making sure that I get my family and FI something that they will totally love. Honestly, I could care less if I got anything. Wouldn’t bother me at all!
There is always one or two gifts that I’m extra excited to give. This year, it’s for my parents. They’ve both had a rough year health wise and my siblings and I got them third row seats to see Elton John. I think my Mom is going to go bananas (at least I hope she does). I have a count down in my head – I’m guessing about 24-25 hours until they open it?
TIME PASS FASTER!
Anyone else have a gift that they are really excited to give this year?

@tropicalfish914: Ooo that sounds awesome! I usually get excited to give gifts because I truly think I am an AWESOME gift buyer, lol. This year I really didn’t get anything that stands out except for my dad. Rather than buy him a gift (because he is hard to buy for and everyone gets him Spam, pistacios, and jerky lol) on Saturday my brother and I spent the WHOLE day baking lemon and other goodies. Dad loves lemon (very tart lemon), so we made lemon coconut bars, lemon cupcakes, snickerdoodle cookies, blueberry lemon cookies, and pecan pie. He should be really surprised and happy that he got a gift that is lemon but homemade by his kids 🙂

I love giving gifts too! Everyone says I’m a good gift giver, which is a nice compliment! I got everyone framed wedding pictures of course! I also got my mom an immersion blender that she wanted, my dad a book about what the world is going to be like in the year 2100, my sister some tech gloves and super soft leggings, and my brother a computer case and Nike dri-fit shirt. I got husband a really pretty wallet that I think he will love!

@tropicalfish914: Amazon had a flash sale on Sunday and I bought my dad the complete original ‘Get Smart’ Tv series on DVD for 80% off ($50 instead of $250). I really hope he loves it. I have fond memories of watching reruns on TV with him when I was little, I don’t know if he remembers that we did that or if he’ll like it as much as I hope he will. I’m really excited to give it to him but nervous he won’t love it like I hope he will.
I’m also super excited to see my 6 year old brother open the giant lego set my sister is giving him (I did the shopping so I picked it out), there’s nothing better than little kids on Christmas.

@megz06: That’s so heartfelt! He will totally love it. My dad is a giant sucker for homemade treats as well.
I find that dads are the hardest to buy for … I never know what to get him!

@tropicalfish914: Haha immersion blender! You put it in a pot and it blends. Great for soup!

@RunnerBride13: Ahaha, I’m dumb. Guess I should have read that properly!! Immersion blender makes SO much more sense 🙂
That’s a really neat gift!

I already gave it – my brother, sister and I got tattoos over the weekend and I paid for those (sister’s birthday present, brother’s Christmas present).
The other one, if I can get it finished, is the hat I’ve been painstakingly knitting for my husband. I just hope he likes it.

@tropicalfish914: I’m a pretty good gift giver, if I do say so myself;) And this year I’m excited to give FI a pair of authentic game used baseball cufflinks! We love baseball and they were used in a game from our favorite team so I think he’ll be really excited!! And he’s getting a PS4, so he’ll definitely be excited about that;)

This year my dad, sister, DH and I all went in on an iPad for my stepmom. She is a teacher, and this year she has a really challenging kid in her class who takes up all her energy, and she’s just been having a really rough time of it this year, so we wanted to get her something extra-awesome. I can’t wait for her to open that!

my step mom’s gift. she had a yorkie that was killed by 2 pitbulls back in 2007, and she got another one that same year to ease the pain. so i got her wine glasses with an etched yorkie on each and on the other side it says ____ loves _____ with her and each dogs name. the death really hit her hard since she witnessed the whole attack. so i think its one of my most thoughtful gifts ive ever given her.
