probably my FI’s gift, he’s super hard to buy for. he’s one of those ‘I don’t want/need anything’ people so I have to work a bit harder to find something for him. he’s been bidding (on ebay) on this game (vintage, dreamcast) for ages and keeps missing out cos it goes above the price he wants to pay. so I’m going to get it for him, pay extra he won’t.

I brought my mum a red leather handbag last year and the first thing she said was ‘I’ll need some red leather gloves to match’ so that’s what I’ve got her this year! I’m super happy to find them because my mum is plus size with big hands so she finds it difficult to gloves to fit. it was like a sign when I saw them, last pair there too!

I’m doing ‘lucky dip’ for my best friend, I’ve got this huge box that I’m going to fill with shredded wrapping paper or something and she got to ‘find’ her presents in there. I’ve got lots of her favourite sweets (which are super cheap) to put in there. it’ll be fun because she likes to hide presents, like she brought a handbag one year and every pocket had different mini presents in (eg. hairclips, earrings..), I thought she would enjoy it! a little personal touch.

xstitchbride425:  ps. the present for your brother sounds awesome!

My SO and I decided not to give big gifts this year because we are saving for a house down payment and we are also going away for a week right after Xmas. I always struggled to think of gifts for him unless I know there’s something he really wants but won’t buy for himself or something he needs. Last year I bought him an espresso machine and it’s his all time favourite thing ever. He uses it every day. This past summer, we went to the UK to visit his family, and there was a castle we visited that he has always wanted to see. We took a tonne of pictures and he really wanted to get a canvas made but we just haven’t gotten it done… so I ordered it for him and I’m looking forward to giving him that. 🙂

We haven’t bought anything yet and as for our kids, not sure exactly what we’re gettig them although we have their lists and I have my list of what to get them… just still up in the air.  As for other people we”re buying for, still not sure yet either.

If all goes to plan though, we’re getting our 14 year old a laptop so that will be a great gift to give since he asked for it but I told him most likley he won’t get it hehehe… we always try to get the kids the one gift they want the most and them trick them into thinking they won’t get it… makes for a great Christmas morning.

Oh, my 7 yr old daughter really wanted a tablet for Christmas and we were going to get it for her but my fil just bought her one last week… a Samsung Glalaxy tab3 lite and she loves it… now my 6 year old wants one too so that is something we might get for him as well (if he decides he wants that more than a NIntendo ds).

I had a watercolour painting done of my Mom’s beloved (but really mean) cat. She’s obssessed with her cat lol. We went to a pet festival in the summer with my aunt, cousin and our dogs. There was a booth there of artists that paint realistic dog/cat canvasses using a picture you provide. My Mom was gathering their business cards, etc and was really excited about the idea. But, it is expensive and I know that she is short on money right now so DH and I got it for her. Hopefully she actually wanted it and just didn’t think it was a cool idea at the time. LOL! We have one more cycle of trying to conceive before Christmas comes so maybe we’ll have an announcement to make as well!

I’m also excited to give my cousin/best friend her gift. She has a weiner dog and loves all things dauschund. I was at Michael’s Crafts buying ribbon for my tree and I found a weiner dog ornament. It’s a brown weenie with a lime green jeweled bow and a pipe cleaner tutu. She will love it.

xstitchbride425:  My niece asked for a Lego Friends set as well. But I’m having trouble finding one that is under $252589. Why are Legos so expensive?

xstitchbride425:  No, she just said that’s what she wants. She only has one set right now; I think the boat one.

xstitchbride425:  I am by far most excited about DH Christmas gift! I am getting him and overnight trip to Detroit. I bought tickets to an Umphrey’s Mcgee concert and a t-shirt for him to wear. Scored Megabus tickets to and from for both os us for $5.50. Yes, that’s 2 round trip tickets for only $5.50!! Plus my BIL is connected in the hotel world and hooked me up with a fabulous rate for the night at thw Westin Book! Only $69!! Andddd since DH loves craft beer I got him a gift card and t-shirt for Detroit Beer Co. Last but not least, couples massage is booked for the day after the concert before we head back home! It is our first Christmas being married and I am so excited to blow him out of the water! I am going to wrap everything seperatly and number it so he opens each part of the trip in order. Maybe have little notes with each gift explaining it or highlights of that aspect of the trip. Some cute wrappoing touch for sure! I am sooo excited! I just know he’s going to love it!

I haven’t gotten most of my gifts for this year yet. I am most excited to give my mom hers. She has a christmas village, and I always get her something For it. My dad isn’t working right now and she feels terrible that she can’t help out with our wedding, so she told me not to get her anything. She’s been working really hard and is extra deserving this year. So thats what I am most excited about at this point.
